Function over Form :p

Got the Universal Remote from Family Dollar and is actually supporting 3 sources right now. Size makes it much harder to lose but also easier to navigate. However, to make way for upgrades the remote and T.V is going to storage so tonight will be it's last night of use.

Just a way to show my before pic before showing my progress pic.

Man. I guess you will never, never lose that remote. It will even be good after your eyes start to fade.

Nice equipment list. Cant wait to see it all put together.

Congratulations!!!

P.S. Do some homework on speaker placement, seating position, and testing please. You will get a lot more out of your system if you do.

Good Luck!

Thanks. Not much choice in regards to seating position as the only seating will be our adjustable bed. Going to be fun with the speaker placement when the 2 enclosed built Kappa Perfect 12" VQ's come next week.

I am starting to have thoughts about the screen. May a 100" would of been better? I can do a lot more with the lesser width inches.

Carada is a great company. If you find after testing your systems audio and speaker placement, the screen is too big, I am sure they would have no problem exchanging it for you for one more suitable.

Good Luck!

Once you have the projector up, try it out without the screen. See what size looks best from the distance you will be seated at. Then decide if you want to exchange the screen you bought.
By the way, very nice system. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Oh the visual experience of 110" from 13.5 is what i am going for. It is just with the 100" screen it would give me more space clearence levels to move the towers from the side walls more but also more available wiggle room needed for the Kappas to fit between the towers and the stand.

I got the Carada for $500 used.

It is going to be pretty tight but doable, plus with the assistance of one knowledge member being here then i am sure something can be to make use of every inch of space and still get amazing sound.

Well there is a hiccup regarding the AVR. All channels are working but the Front L & R's. Did not work when doing the initial set up audio testing. No stereo when testing the radio. Then it started working when slightly moving the AVR forward on the rack. Combined with center and surrounds it was working flawlessly watching blu ray for about a hour. then went to move the AVR a few inches back and the front right and left stopped again and hasn't changed since . Double checked all connections and are tight. Tested the surround speakers on the front L and R channels and nothing. Surrounds speakers back to the Surround ports and they were fine.

Test the front speakers on my old AVR and is working fine so the speakers are ok. Maybe something loose in the internals, i dont know.

Was looking forward to watching some blu last night to.

I think you are right. Something probably came lose during shipping. I have had several occasions of equipment being shipped that had heavy internals like power supplies come unbolted\lose. Two subwoofers to be exact. The best packing in the world can not protect a dropped object with these internals.

Well, I recommend sending it back. A delay but nothing that can not be overcome.

Thanks for the update.

P.S. Buying used does have its risks. Sorry to hear that returning the screen is not an option. I do not recommend buying video equipment until the audio portion of the setup and testing is completed! Too often, audio takes a back seat to the video aspect and us Audioholics don't call ourselves Videoholics!:D

Yeah the Onkyo is new with factory warranty even though it was sold through ebay but i feel it is going to be a long haul as the closet service center is 3 hours there and back with no ETA of it being repaired and then the chance it will not get fixed. After a month of getting a new replacement Epson 6500 (locked focus ring) i am really not looking forward to another warranty procedure process so i really considering of having a sep amp to power the fronts if possible and let the onkyo do the audio and video processing and power the center and surrounds.

Good news though is that everything is set up and the screen is perfect with ample space between the towers and stand to place the dual subs.

Some pictures of the setup so far. Much to do

The dual Kappas are going to destroy that room.;) My room was easily twice the size of that with huge openings to the dining room and kitchen, can't wait to get them set up and running.

See you in about a week.:D
