I'm so sick of North Korea flexing it's pathetic muscles.
The president should tell them if they launch a missile at Hawaii we will have to assume it is an attack and we'll be sending one right back, with a few warheads on it.
Of course I don't actually want this to happen but something needs to be done about this A-hole.

In general I agree with you however just tell me why shouldn't North Korea be allowed to test weapons if after all the US, UK, France, China, Russia did exactly the same thing 25-50 years ago ? Is the US willing to ban all nuclear weapons including their own ?

No, because its not one guy with his hand on the button.

I'm not saying they have to govern the way we do, but, checks and balances should be part of every government. Lets say this guy is sane now, but then goes crazy as he gets older (which, isn't that far-fetched... I mean, when you get older you do have a chance of going a bit nuts) ... who's gunna tell him no when he wants to play with the nukes on his last years? His cheerleading squad? The people who are starving but have to listen to a chart topping song that has been #1 forever there...that is...about..."HIM" .

I'm not saying I have the true picture either, but, I'm a little more trusting in places like the UK, or Spain, or France that have open communication and a system of government that monitors itself or at least attempts to.

Personally, I think that if it even looks like it's anywhere near approaching us, we blow it out of the air. We do have that technology, don't we?

2 words- Parking Lot
...on the way to Iran for the same purpose
reminds me of this joke:

The Saudi Ambassador to the UN has just finished giving a speech, and walks out into the lobby where he meets President Bush. They shake hands and as they walk the Saudi says, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America."

President Bush says "Well your Excellency, anything I can do to help, I will do."

The Saudi whispers "My son watches this show 'Star Trek' and in it there are Russians, Blacks, and Asians, but never any Arabs. He is very upset. He doesn't understand why there are never any Arabs in Star Trek."

President Bush laughs and leans toward the Saudi, and whispers back, "It's because it takes place in the future...."

I would love to rid the world of nukes but it's the old adage, if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns. I know your probably rolling your eyes about now, I am too and I said it. I just think it would be naive to unilaterally give up our nukes.
The problem with North Korea and Iran and the like having nukes is they will likely use them or give them to someone who would. Nukes are only useful as a threat and the threat doen't work if you don't care whether most or all of your people die.
As for them testing weapons, they have the right but not to fire those tests at us or anybody. When civilized countries test these things they generally don't shoot them directly at other counties.
One would think that mankind would have figured out a better way to deal with each other, but you just can't talk to some people, unfortunately.:(
