Folks, just got word of an all new 10" sealed sub from Outlaw Audio. The specs look real impressive. Just thought I would mention it for those looking to get a new sub. Here is a link for any of you that may be interested:

As you can see, the ECS-10 costs $849. However, if you reserve one you can save $50! ;):);) Every little bit helps imho. Anyways, hope many of you find this helpful. :):):)

Gawd, what is the phobia with balanced inputs and outputs with manufacturers??? They're really excluding themselves from an entire market of home studio folks when they leave these out. Thankfully SVS understands this, or we'd b scrood, otherwise.

DJ, that does seem to be the trend. Kudos to SVS for trying to change that! ;):);)

Although I'm aware that Outlaw makes a good sub, I fail to see the value in this particular model over say a Rythmik or Epik which offer sealed, 12" models in the same price range.

Very good point! However, it is a bit too early to tell until we get some reviews. You never know, it may just rock the house...........LOL!!!! ;):p;) But then again, it may not. The specs are very impressive. Guess we all will know soon enough. :);):)

Even if it performed to Spec, I wouldn't call that rocking the House for 900 Bucks before shipping. Ultra Anyone?

It would be nice if the told us the conditions for the 23Hz -3db point. If thats anechoic, thats pretty good for a 10" sealed. With a 1000w amp and DSP/EQ thats a possibility and should give you an in room -3db around 17 or 18Hz.

That would be pretty good for the money.

I agree Brian. However, you never know it may perform very well. As Rnat mentioned, there are certainly more viable options out there. ;);)

Update!

Folks, it appears that Outlaw made a slight mistake with respect to the size of the all new ECS-10 10" sub. The enclosure is actually SMALLER than originally reported! ;);) Here is a link:

An enclosure this small is good for those with very little space. Being a sealed enclosure also helps with placement. Anyways, just wanted to keep you folks posted. :):)

Yeah, we do need a bit more data. Perhaps, in time some real worlds measurements to justify the claims. Sure wouldn't hurt. Thanks for pointing that out. ;):);)

I have never been impressed with these cube high output small enclosure subs. Just too much distortion even when made by good companies like Outlaw (even if they dont makke anything themselves). Give me an SVS or my Outlaw LFM-1+ anytime. Just my 2 cents.

True Mud, but some people don't have the room for one of the larger subs. Or, they are dealing with a WAF that will not allow one very big. As such, a sub like this could offer a reasonable solution. Given the price point, there is plenty of competition. ;):);)
