Kind of hard to go wrong with this:)

I cant find third party measurments of the SCR, and would not go by published specs from DT.

If it were my $2000, I would buy either the Epik Conquest or the Klipsch RSW15. The Klipsch comes in a variety of finishes and would look better, if that is a concern. It also has a flatter frequency response over its range than the Epik. Both average approximately 112dB from 25Hz to 62Hz. The advantage of the Epik is that it does produce 10dB more at 20Hz. But, that is usually the trade off for low range output.

Here is a link that should provide some good information for you to compare and shop what fits your budget and fits your overall needs.

P.S. The graph above is useless. It does not provide enough resolution to be of any use.

I have heard many many subs in this hobby and for the price per performance, you just can't beat the SVS PB13 Ultra, that thing has more tight clean power in huge rooms, than you will ever need. Just an awesome great looking sub.

You may want to also add a Seaton Submersive subwoofer to your list....

It is an incredible sub with some of the best SQ I have heard...

It is a Dual 15" firing Opposed Sealed sub.... I have heard lots and lots of subs, and this one is truly at the top of the heap and well worth the money.

If I hadn't built my own subs I would have bought those for sure...

*
Dual, custom designed, 15" drivers with 3" diameter voice coils
*
A sealed enlcosure built from very strong and rigid Baltic Birch Plywood
*
Drivers on opposing faces for a completely inert, stablized cabinet that won't walk, shake or quiver.
*
A robust, high efficiency, 1,000W ICEpower based amplifier with SMPS power supply.
*
Isolated balanced input eliminating common ground loop problems
*
Cabinet dimensions: 24.25" W x 17.5" D x 25.5" H
*
Frequency response: +/-3dB 18-200Hz - outdoor ground plane

And, the Epik has 103dB at 12 Hz:D

No offense, but personally I wouldn't be all that concerned with what a sub can do in a area which is inaudible such as below 20hz - upper teens great, but shooting for flat to 10hz is a waste unless you have a tiny room.

It is nice to have something capable of running in the rumble area, but if takes away from the audible arena, it would lessen my want for such a product.

Your room and placement will have more to do with the response and how flat or rippled its response will become for the listener... great measurements are one thing, what your room does to that response in another.

No offense at all. I think the Telarc 1812 has 5Hz in there:D Why not? Earthquakes go down that low;):D And, if it can, just imagine the upper teens:D I like to see the chess pieces slide off the sub:)

I agree with Warp. Not much content recorded that falls below 25Hz so performance below this level becomes rather irrelevant in real world listening.

COME ON GUYS! He said he has a new wife! As a SVS PB12 +2 owner why are we recomending SVS to him. If he gets the PB 13 and his wife is home when they deliver it he will be in big trouble! And even more trouble once it is hooked up.

Just an FYI I have 24x16 room and my SVS is more than I will ever need.
Until one day when i want another.
Go with the PB13

i don't know if i want to go for that 10hz extension myself. the right and cheaper thing to do is multiple sealed mal-x's playing the last octave. but resale value on that is crap.

other options are 8 ultras in sealed mode (with linkwitz transform) or 5 ultras in 15hz mode with no room compensation

That is why I recommended the RSW15. It performs like the Conquest, it comes in a nice furniture grade finish, and it is a size your wife can live with.
