Folks, I got the chance to view this one today. For the most part, it was funny. Perhpahs not as funny as Jim Carey usually is, but funny just the same. The picture quality was very good and the sound was quite good as well. One thing I did notice, however, is that the movie started automatically w/o giving me a chance to select the right audio codec. Therefore, I assume I got it by way of Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and not just DD. To be honest, it was really hard to tell on this one. Just don't understand why the Yammie 663 does NOT display the new codecs in LARGE letters as opposed to using the smaller ones.:confused: WTF was Yamaha thinking? That makes it hard on guys like me because I am diabetic. As such, my vision is NOT the best especially looking at such small lettering. Other than that, I did not have any issues. The movie is decent with a very funny ending!:D:eek:

Cheers,

Phil

The 663 should display in large letters if you have "surround decoder" selected on the remote. If you have "straight" it will only indicate straight and not inform you of the current audio input....you can also go into the OSD and view the signal info fro any given audio feed and it will tell you in nice big letters on your main display. :)

I do agree...this is my favorite new comedy and the PQ and SQ were both excellent.

Thanks for the tip. I will go try it. All it has been saying is "Straight". But, in small letters it shows which codec is being employed. I will go right now and reload Yes Man and see if I can get it to do that. Then, I will get back to you. :):)

I liked this movie a lot. 7.5/10 for sure. I like the unpredictable nature of staying with the YES plan and like wise for veering off the YES plan. There aren't like a ton of enjoyable chick flicks out there and in that regard it's a solid 9/10. Watch it with SWMBO and reap the rewards that should go to Carey's character while still being your same lame self.

SPOILER !!!
I'm more of a leave the teeth in so I can watch kinda guy.
That toofless granny thing is a little weird even for me.

I thought it was a fun dopey comedy. It was pretty much exactly what I expected, so I can't complain.

I give it a solid 3 stars......

I really enjoyed this one. IMO, one of his better recent movies. Well done, great PQ and excellent audio (mainly in just a few scenes some big LFE). It had its stupid moments, but overall, a recommended rental.

It's been a little while since I saw this, but I do remember enjoying it, it was a lot better than I expected it to be. I do remember the picture being good, but I forget about the audio, I guess it was ok since I don't remember it sucking.
