Sorry to those of you "hoping" for another political thread, but I refuse...

I will occasionally dabble in some political arguments but rarely see the point in debating hopeless issues. Not that politics is hopeless, but unfortunately it seems that most people cling to the cliche that political stances are unwavering and no rebuttal is a justified cause to become open minded.

ANYWAY...

Have you ever noticed in movies, or tv, that when there's a phone conversation and one party hangs up on another that there's a dial tone on the other end? That doesnt happen in real life and it kinda ticks me off.

On a completely unrelated note, John Cusack is a mediocre actor...

EDIT: Perhaps this can become like a pet peeve type of thread or something...

I hate when people use cell phones... the graphics are never correct. And then you have those people that seem to know every single persons phone number off the top of their heads...

One of my favorite tech-related goofs is in Charlies Angels... Alex is d/ling data from Roger Corwin's PDA... all it is is a Text Edit program opened with "Downloading..." written across it. Yeah, okay Angels - you really broke through that one!

Worst film about a cell phone: Cellular... hands down.

There was a scene in an X-Files episode where Mulder is in a very remote, mountainous area chatting to Scully that he had discovered an old train car with alien hybrids. This is way before “can you hear me now”? technology, and even after he was locked inside the train car, the signal was still good.

They could hear him then?

There is a scene in Star Wars: Episode II when Anakin is in Padme's penthouse on Coruscant he is sitting on a couch with a device in his hand and as Padme enters he places it on the couch, it's a Philips Pronto universal remote control.

George Lucas is a mediocre director.
