Hello Thanasis, :)

I have the Z9 and can vouch for it. It truly is a superb piece of kit.

That said, I cannot offer comment on the Arcam as I have never heard it.

Sorry I cannot be of more help. If you have any questions re the Z9 specifically, I'll do my best to answer them.

Cheers,

What’s the reasoning for wanting the tape loop involvement?
Hi Greg!

I need the tape loop to use it as a pre-out, pre-in loop, so that i can connect the active equalizer that comes with my speakers. The connection will be:

1) DVD sends signal via digital port to Amp.
2) Amp performs DSP and DAC.
3) Amp outputs analog two front channels via tape out.
4) Eq to equalize signal.
5) Amp inputs analog signal via tape in.
6) Amplification and output to the speakers.

Thank you!

Thanasis

Hi Highlander!

Thanks for trying to help!

Please tell me, do you use your Z9 primarily for music or for HT? Have you ever compared it with another amp?

Thanks again!

I listen to music far more than I watch films. Note also that, even if you are more into music than films, a multi channel amp can come in handy, as it opens up the possibility of playing DVD-A or SACD discs in addition to 2-channel CDs.

I haven't compared the Z9 to any other amp, but to be perfectly honest; I have no desire to do so, as the Z9 is the centre piece of my system and I adore it. No doubt one day I'll part with it to get something more up to date, but that day is still years away.

Cheers,
