Blu Ray Sound Quality through HDMI

sorry if this is a silly question.

I have an older samsung bdp-1400 I'm using with the Pioneer Elite SC-05.
I'm using HMDI between the two. The Elite AVR is doing all the sound
processing, correct?

If I upgraded to let say an Elite BD-05 blu ray player or higher end blu ray player, would I hear any difference in the sound quality?

the purpose of upgrading to a higher end unit would be for better picture quality and not the sound?

thanks.

No real reason why there would be an audible difference especially if they both pass the new hi-def audio codes.

It's worth trying.

The Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD with it's latest firmware update is a fantastic player for Video and Audio (analog) quality, plus it will integrate well with your Pioneer Elite SC-05 A/V receiver.
As for the HDMI audio quality, unless your SC-05 has a special jitter reduction like the SC-07 and SC-09 through their HDMI audio inputs, you'll probably not notice any difference. But for Video and Analog Audio (Wolfson Dacs WM-8740), get one and check it out, you might be pleasantly surprised. :)

Cheers,

Bob

Even something sounding 'different' is not necessarily a value judgment. You can prefer blondes but still appreciate brunettes. ;)
