one more thing hifi there is only static noise when nothing is playing as soon as i play a song the static immediately disappears ready for the song to play.
Hey, Timmy.. Like I said, the slight white noise is just fine... the Architecture of solid state amplifiers produce that noise. The "T" circuitry is the only solid state amp I know of that produces no white noise whatsoever, no matter what the volume is...
Yes, the Klipsch speakers are plenty efficient, however, they can produce some serious impedance dips and CAN be pretty taxing on an amplifier. It doesnt happen often though that you would be listening loud enough to clip the amp. If you do however, the horns are so revealing that they could have "played" the "POP" if the power side of the amp crossed into the signal side for a brief moment.
Sounds like everything is fine... If you're listening that loud, you might need more headroom by way of a more powerful amp, but you're probably using such minimal wattage when listening normally. Its also very possible that something was wrong with the source signal that caused a pop.
I would be careful... I'd slowly turn it up. If you are underpowering the Klipsch towers, you can blow the tweeter in the Synergy line.. I've never seen the tweeter in a Reference line blow, but I've seen it plenty in Klipsch's price point offerings...
