Need help: slim floorstanding speakers (less than 7.5") that won't break the bank

In hearing two pairs (one with, other without) the sand adds in IMHO, both weight and detail to the sonic presentation. It's not sloppy by any means. One thing to know about Totem speakers, they are outrageous imagers and create a wide soundstage.

The suggestion of the Role Audio speakers is also good.

I have these as my towers;

Very nice solid speaker, images liek crazy and tonally very accurate. Although its kind of an ugly duckling in looks, its sound is not. They are also very easy to drive despite their 6 ohm nominal rating as they are high sensitivity speakers and do not require alot of power to make them sing loud. Very versatile speaker. My system doubles 50% music 50%HT. For music I run them full range and for HT duty I run them in conjunction with a sub.

(I've only had Klipsch for the past 10 years).
If you like Klipsch, you might just stick with them. Especially if you've had em for 10 years. The rf52 or rf10 would be great options. The RF10's arent much skinnier than the 52 though. Dont buy a klipsch sub... :p

Never heard these but have heard a lot about them. Everyone talks about the bass but don't they only go down to 50hz? I would say that needs a sub even for music. Maybe is it that they have great bass considering it's just one 4.5" woofer?

I'm a firm believer that I'd rather a have a speaker do what it is capable of very well, than try to do everything mediocre. The Arro's may be rated down to just 50hz, but in my side by side comparisons with the Totem Rainmaker monitors (rated 42hz), the Arro's go just as low, and when filled with ballast had more detail.

IMHO, the Klipsch's just don't compare. I find them to be overly bright and fatiguing for my taste, but this is about what your ears tell you.

Maybe used Vienna Acoustics? Those speakers are narrow.

Thanks again for the additional suggestions. We are in the process of finalizing our move (you'd think after 3 full days of moving stuff it'd be over...but not yet). Once we are in and I can see for sure where furniture is going, I'll have a better sense of exactly how much space I have to work with.

I am beginning to really like the idea of mounting satellites/bookshelf speakers if possible (the room is looking smaller and smaller as more furniture makes its way into it) to keep things as open as possible.
