Bookshelf or Satellites?

I currently have 2 floorstanding Yamaha NS-555 with the black piano finish and the matching center NS-444. Should I get the bookshelf speakers to complete the set or get smaller satellite speakers that are less obtrusive mounted on the wall? The bookshelf speakers are fairly large and didn't want them to be the focal point of each wall. I would also have to build a shelf for each of them to sit on.

If you suggest a satellite rear set, any suggestions on brands/models that wouldn't break the bank? ($200/less)

Additional info: Just purchased an Onkyo 606 to replace the old receiver I had. Staying with 5.1 for now.

Surrounds don't typically go straight toward the back. Reference dolby.com for proper placement.

I suggest what I use. KEF 2001.2s They are a very good considering their size. Very accurate and great for special effects.
They were on clearance for 100 each at one point, but may not be now.

Mirage Nanosats would be nice too. Those are the only 2 satellites I would allow in my setup.

Bookshelves preferred of course.

I haven't really met a satellite speaker that I liked. Most tend to lack midbass and therefore any realism of sound. I'd go with bookshelf speakers, and if you get smaller ones, they can be wall mounted if you choose as well.

If you listen to any multichannel music, I'd stick with speakers from the same family as your mains.

I know they are a pain to setup for surrounds, but honestly they are cheaper than the good satellites.
