You should have got an EMachine. :D

Computers are nothing next to people when it comes to being irritants. The first 72 hours are supposedly the worst. Get through that for now. Don't start smoking again because of your computer doesn't work or because nobody but you knows how to freaking drive or because your mother died.

When you go into 'I don't give a sh!t mode', remember that you will give a sh!t later and there will be puppies to pet down the road. There's a short story by Steven King on quitting and they even did some sort of film (maybe a short) with James Woods and Alan King (?). Hilarious. I love the part when his wife starts dancing to the music. :D

It's never going to be easier and it may take years before you are in this frame of mind.

Have some cake,
Alex :)

subliminal message: you are getting hungry, very hungry
Quitters Inc... great story :)

Got hit with another urge today...

Why do people like RAP?!

Normally I can tolerate it, especially when I am a passenger in someones vehicle or a guest in their home. But is it really necessary to PUMP rap, all the effin' time?! It's not music... nowhere near. It's a bunch of f***** gangsters talking about slapping up their ho's and smokin' crack... to a crappy beat.

Music used to be about love and peace and happiness...

Since when did it become OKAY for rappers to label their crap as music and start selling it?

And I apologize if any of you like rap...

That was before. For this next week try to hunker down and limit your exposure to the world in general. At the very least respect the 72 hour rule. Then again Mike C. said he had no withdrawal symptoms. I don't know, maybe he didn't exhale. How long since the last smoke? In hours if under 72.

So what do you want to buy that $200 per month can pay for? I got all kinds of stuff. I think Rick or Doug were good enough to point out that smoking would have been cheaper. Just let the time go by. That's all there is to it.

Thanks for the video, lol...

Sadly, watching it made me want a cigarette...

Why?

Because DSL makes me really angry.

Or maybe it's just the nicotine deprivation that is making me angry.

Come to think of it, I have been really angry the past few days... what with all of the rap and slow internet connections out there...

In a way, it's no wonder people start smoking... :p

It's been a little over two days... I haven't been keeping an exact count (I try not to think about that lovely last cigarette)...

I'm going to Rhinelander tomorrow (I don't know why I just said the city I'm going to... lol)... A la' AT&T to pick me up an iPhone.

The cost of the data/minute plan is going to just about cover the money saved from smoking :p

You can change power settings so it doesn't run so hot, if your PC is set to maximum performance it will always run with maximum throttle, if you change this to sth else windows may turn down performance of CPU and it will not run as hot... and of course.... it will run slower too.... so not really a good option, but it's there.....

Have you checked for bios updates, perhaps there's an update to better cater for and handle this heating issue... read: "better control of fan speed", whenever there's issues like overheating.... always check for bios updates
I've got a Gateway M-7315u laptop... checked the website for BIOS updates and there don't seem to be any... I'm installing SpeedFan as of right now, just to keep an eye on my CPU temp and to determine when it might crash again. I finally was able to uninstall the program w/o an overheating issue... that is, after I switched to "Power Saver" mode in Win7. Do you happen to know the normal operating temps of an Intel Pentium Dual CPU @ 2.0Ghz?

(My BIOS info: Phoenix Technologies LTD 96.04 -- 7/23/08)

They call those triggers.

The way it works is that by not dosing at those times you are reprogramming your brain to not expect nicotine the next time. It takes a while for it to take effect. It's kind of a good thing though. Even though it is a full bore craving you are gaining ground on being nicotine free and withdrawal free. After you go through it enough times you won't be affected. You are gaining ground.

You know how sometimes you hear something and it just changes everything? Well for me one thing like that is the phrase 'this is doable'. The trick to never smoking again is to never smoke again. Not even a little. So keep gaining ground and try not to be so f^%&ing miserable. :D

Kidding of course, I just like the way that sounds. You are just about past the worst of it.
I bet your lungs appreciate the break already. ;)

They most certainly do... not to mention, Stride's stock probably went up tenfold after I got done purchasing gum last night. :D It's actually a pretty good day today... nothing has really made me edgy just yet :)
