Contour's one of my favorites also. You have good taste. I would rank the Mackies slightly below the Contours (if the Countors are a 10, I would rank the Mackies a strong 8.5) and I heard the Mackies hooked directly to a receiver s preouts while the Contours I heard hooked up to active crossovers and very powerful amp and the Mackies still did an impressive job.

Interesting, mackies are really that good.......
Have you ever listened to Confidence series?
I haven't but I always wanted to listen to C2, although, I can't afford 'em....

Actually I have heard them. When I was comparing the Mackies, i was comparing them to the Contour S 1.4's way price difference though and the Mackies still stood there ground. In fact in three weeks I'm flying to Deleware to attend a S&V GTG where two of the members are authorized dealers for Dynaudios (one of them I'm staying at his house and he just completed his basement HT system which consists of Dynaudio towers and bookshelves. I so am looking forward to hearing his system. But yes I love the Contour speakers.
