Second sub question

I have a Pioneer vsx-01. One sub pre out. If I wanted to add a second sub. can I simply use an RCA splitter to do so? If so how far can I run an RCA cable to #2 sub? Ideally the subs would be about 15 feet apart. One in front and one behind listener.

You should be fine using a "Y" connector to turn that one sub out into two.

You should also have no problems running an inerconnect of sufficient length around the room to your second sub.

Perfect! Just as I had hoped! Thanks.

If the first sub has a pre-in and pre-out, you can "daisy chain" them together and not have to use a Y splitter, just a long cable between the two. Not that a Y splitter is expensive...

Along those lines...

Even if the nearest sub doesn't have daisy chain capabilities, if it's positioned "on the way" to the second sub, the "Y" connector could be inserted there to avoid redundant wiring.
