Yes it does exist. I use it dayley For hours on end .
I decided to build a HT . Where the screen is, I built a 2'x4'x10' stage . The stage is the 80 cu ft enclosure for 2,8ohm 15" cheap very large magnet Twianese spkrs, these are polly coned have a resonance of 20cps and a sensitivity of 98db@m.the Imax about 1/2 "the spkrs are in //L giving me 4ohm . Actually I measures it at 3ohm .I feed the spkrs with a homemade full range160w amp . the stage is carpeted with leftovers for the room . there are 7 pound of roof polly insulation bats in the enclosure to dampen things down . I use the amp to crossover at 80cps.
The performance of these speakers are mind blowing. they will strongly shake you before you can hear them at sub 20 cps . my son has AVS sub half the size of a piano and my one compares with that . On ht they blow you away , and using them on music, wonderful , If you think I am dreaming , contact me and come for an audition , you would be most welcome . Alan .

Gday Isiberian , I;m sorry, but am I being too technical for some people to understand ???? . What i am saying that one does not have to spend heaps on a commercial sub when one can use a bit of knowledge and common sense and DIY. The end result as I stated before can be spectacular . Kind regards:):):) , Alan .

No worries mate, you have to try to understand another English language that evolved 33,000miles away:eek::eek: , and that's not easy . When I work out how to put pics of the subs in the HT on this forum will do . Give me a couple a days . and a couple of aspirin .
PS keep safe from the pig flu .
All the best, Alan .

Since I've been down under I thought I would try my hand at Aussie to American translation.

He built a home theater and then built an enclosure under the screen. Then he put cheap 15" drivers in the stage and powered them with his own hand built amp. he crosses over the subs 80 hz. They can shake the room before becoming boomy and are capable of 20 hz.

They shoot you on home theater, but on music they are awesome. If you want to argue with me. I'll fly you to australia and show you myself. I'll even cover airfare. I would even let you sleep in my bed or on top of the subs which double as a massage mat. If you think he's serious you don't get a free weeklong vacation to Australia. So you better disagree. Too late for Jamie.

I must say that commerical subs will smoke your subs. Even Daytons.(do I get to come get proved wrong yet):)

My son has an AVS but my subs are better.

On a serious note I believe we can make your system even sicker. With some mean drivers. We could entertain your neighbors and the kangaroos.

not to be the guy who goes around correcting everyone, but australia isnt 33,000 miles away from anything. in fact, 33,000 miles is significantly more than the diameter of the earth :p
