It's hard for me to keep it together when reading this, Phil. It may sound strange to some, but you feel like family. Yvette had some sage words when she said that what people fear in death is to be a burden to their family. Your sadness over the loss of your mother will be great, but just let her know how much you love her and try to let her know that things will be taken care of and that she doesn't need to worry about anything.

I pray that your mom has a peaceful transition, and that you and your family have strength is this time. Best wishes, my friend, and my heart goes out to you and yours.

Adam reading this eases my anxiety. I really do appreciate your support, as well as, that of other members here. It really makes a difference. Once again, I must say thank you for all of your kind words. Times like this, is when it matters the most imho. Words alone can NOT express my gratitude. Kudos to you sir! ;):);)

Jamie, I really appreciate your support too. It honestly makes a big difference. My Mom is hanging in there, but sooner or later she will become too weak to fight. My guess is, it may be a few more days at best. However, the good Lord will take her on HIS time not ours. Until then, my goal is to be there for her and to make her as comfortable as I possibly can. Sure hope I am succeeding my friend. Thanks so much for the prayers. :);):)

Better Update!

Folks, my bro called me this morning to inform me that my Mom is doing better. That is, she may undergo a procedure that will drain the fluid from her lungs. If successful, she has some time left before passing. Still yet, the doctor explained that her cancer is in remission! In other words, there is still some hope my Mom can live. I am so happy to hear this. Anyways, it looks like many prayers are being answered. Thank you all so much for them. It has really made a difference. For that, I am forever grateful. :):):)

I agree 100% that prayer is a powerful tool. The more that pray about something specific the better imho. That way, the good Lord is sure to hear them. In my Mom's case, I believe he did. She is making a remarkable recovery. Thanks to you and anyone else here that has taken the time to say a prayer. It means so much and really makes a difference. Hope all is well your way my friend. ;);)

Phil, I never knew your troubles as work keeps me largely away from the forums the first four months of the year. Let me add my voice of compassion to your many many friends here to one of the really worthy men of the forum. Any words of mine will seem so feeble but I have my fingers crossed for an unexpected recovery of your mother and if not a peaceful and painless end. These affairs are often harder on the living and I will hope that you find the inner strength to see you through without tearing your heart apart. My prayers are with you.

Unbelievable Update!!!!!!!

Folks, just got home and wanted to let you all know that my Mom will be going home tomorrow!!!!! That means, many prayers have been answered. I can NOT thank you all enough. Words can not even begin to describe how happy I am. :):) Someway somehow, my Mom has hung in there. They injected a needle deep into her lungs and drained pockets of fluid. So much so, she can now breathe much better on her own w/o the need for so much oxygen. ;);) At this time, I just wanted to thank all of you who cared enough to offer a kind word or words, as well as, praying for her. For that, I am FOREVER grateful. You guys ROCK!!!!!!

Cheers,

Phil
