... the firearms industry. If any of you are firearm enthusiasts, you know all too well that you basically can't get anything anymore. Visit any sight for parts, ammo, or magazines and what do you see... "out of stock."
Ironic that someone who is a rabid gun control advocate created more new gun owners than any other time in recent history.
These kinds of supply and demand issues bring out the worst and best in free market business. The local Walmart not to far from my house usually had these Federal 100 round value packs of 223 ammo for about $40. Now, you can't find them anywhere. I finally asked the one guy what the deal was and he told me that a couple of the local shops send someone to all the local Walmarts literally 2 times a day, everyday, to check for new ammo shipments and then buy everything they can. Why? Because they resell it at a huge mark up. Sure enough, I went into the shop that the guy told me about and they were basically dumping the 100 round boxes into ammo cans and selling the 1000 count ammo boxes for $624.99. I've spend several thousand dollars with them over the years and was none to happy. I let them know that I fully support their right to do that kind of business, but I also let them know that I would never spend another dime in their shop again. I cancelled my current order for a rifle with them as well.
Penny-wise, pound foolish.
