What model number is the Sony receiver? What subs are you using?

From what I could find, your receiver is a 6.2 receiver. So you should only have two sub outputs, not four. Are you hooking up to the proper outputs?

Your rec. is only capable of running two subs ,no ifs ands or buts about it,two or as your owners manual says "dual subs".

I agree - that receiver only has two subwoofer outputs.

The decrease in quality might be because of the receiver, but it may also be due to undesirable interactions between your subs. Audioholics has a nice article on setting up multiple subs at the link here. I'd say give it a look, and you might find some helpful information.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

If THIS is your Sony unit, then you only have two subwoofer outputs. The two subwoofer outputs are located at the right end of the lower row of inputs arranged vertically, one above the other. The multi-channel input is right beside the subwoofer output. Perhaps you are mistaking the subwoofer and center inputs of the multichannel input as subwoofer outputs?

If you don't have the manual, you can download it from the Sony site linked here. The site is in Spanish, but the manual is in both English and Spanish.

More power to you, I gave up looking for a manual when I hit the Spanish site.

Okay, I see the four sub outputs now. It helps to post the correct model number. :)

I'm looking at the manual now...

BTW, I just noticed that you can switch the language on the Latin American site to English. Made it easier for me, anyway.

aCTUALLY I DONT NEED THE MANUAL, MY QUESTIN IS WHY I AM GEETING POOR OUTPUT WHEN I CONNECT 2 SUBS, WHENEVER I CONNECT 2 SUBS THEN THE QUALITY BECARE VERY POOR, DO U UNDERSTAND MY PROBLEM, AS I TOLD U EARLIER THAT LOT OF AIR IS COMMING FROM THE SUB'S HOLE BUT NOT GETTING THAT MUCH BASS THAN I SOULD GET FROM 2 SUBS, U KNOW THAT KLIPSCH D10 SUBS ARE VERY GOOD.

Yes, we understand. What you might not quite understand is that you gave us the wrong model number, so you're question didn't make sense. Now, we can see that the model that you own does indeed have four subwoofer outputs.

A question for you - do you have the original two subwoofers for that system? If so, do those sound okay when they are both hooked up?

Somethings that you can try to see if it's the receiver or the subs (perhaps their orientation and the interaction between the two) is to do the following:
  1. Hook up just one sub, but connect it to different sub outputs on the receiver. If the sub sounds good no matter which output you use, then you know that all of the sub outputs are working properly on the receiver.
  2. Get a y-splitter cable (like the one linked here), and then you can connect both subs to one of the subwoofer outputs. If your system sounds good with that connection, then perhaps the receiver has a problem outputting two signals at one time. Either way, your system sounds good.
