I'm starting to see a familiar pattern...

"Our last posts crossed.

First off, you never, ever mentoned those guys worked for you in a company you just started and you had to console their families. All you said was that you "knew two guys". Big difference. As such, you did have a dog in that race. A big dog. For that comment , I see your anger and apologize.

Second, look at my original post. It was a response to sheep (who conveniently disappeared after that).

It was a simple, one-line response to him for "laughing" at the NY'ers paniced reaction to what they perceived as possibly another 9/11, nothing else. Reference my post where i mentioned my first wife being rear-ended.

I was NOT dissing anyone else's experiences on 9/11.

When you came on with that "I take offense..." stuff I went into high defense mode, as I am wont to do.

Personally, I think we BOTH over-reacted due to our experiences.

But, just know that my initial response was not aimed at you. It was aimed at some canadian who had nothing to do with 9/11. Heck, I don't think he even entered puberty when it happened."

Edit.. not my fight...

Ok everyone calm down. Anger should be aimed at the right things. I hate to see either of you guys be pissed at each other. Forums are easy to misread. I'm sure Mark didn't mean it to come across like it did.

Glad to see he apologized.

Either way this was a stupid thing to do and heads should roll. I think an apology is in order by the president himself. 9/11 was a terrible tragedy and nothing should ever be done to evoke that memory like that.

Let's take this moment to remember our families and what's truly important in life.

I will say that the Bush adminisration scared the country and continued to do so when there was NO real threat (kinda like WMD's that were never found) as a way of taking our liberties away from us and they did a damn good job of it...
Jamie,

I'm looking for education here...and to get back to a more civil debate. Can you be more explicit in exactly what liberties were taken from you?

Jamie,

Privacy is my #1 issue with what has been taken from me and all of us really. I have not had any issues with MY civil liberties being taken away but many americans have. I am sorry I was being general in my comments this is a real issue and I am not going to really have anything more to say about it but if education is what you are after: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_act

I am just trying to provide you with some info that you can sort thru yourself and make your own desicion, even though I am pretty sure that you already have but none the less you said you were looking for education. I should have been more careful with the way I worded that but I am sure you knew that already:rolleyes: I am really done here now thanks and have a great day, Jamie

For the Record I'm not saying people dying in the Tower Collapse meant nothing, and I'm not taking shots at people who lost friends, or were *in close proximity*. Pretty much, I'm not taking shots at Jamie.

Markw on the other hand (you douche), I am (you douche).

Of course you think my city has no tall buildings, and doesn't have problems that concern you, because you don't know anything about my city. However, even though you lack any knowledge regarding my country and my province, you still seem to think you know more then I do, and consider it not important. I'm not expecting your "heart to go out" to people here and the problems they face (frankly I don't care about america's problems, and I really hate that phrase), but don't try to pass it off simply because it's different, or far away. If you really wanted to know we have a problem with gang shootings and swine flu.

Also, I wouldn't trash it too much, considering your favorite show Smallville is filmed here, douche.

Actually, I'm kinda sorry that Jamie got in the way of what rightfully should have been directed at you but, as is typical for a child, you chose to avoid the fight and let him handle it.

It's funny, you seem to find humor in people in NYC reacting in shock to low-flying airplanes where they don't belong, even though the last time it happened, world-changing events occurred, not to mention what they personally had to endure. For many, the events of that day are indelibly etched in their memories. That's why the panic. They remember!

Yet you really don't see the implications, do you? What were you, 11, maybe 12 at the time that 9/11 happened? Let's face it. It wasn't real to you. It was just something you watched with your mommy and daddy on TV.

Either way, you were obviously too young to grasp the implications of what those two airplanes foretold for the residents of that city, not to mention the world. I guess that's what comes from your living in your own isolated, provincial world where problems beyond your own local boundaries and experiences don't exist in your world. They only exist on TV. Face it, your biggest worry is hopping up your rice burner. You use trials faced by others for your amusement.

And, yeah, merely by virtue of being about three times your age, not even counting life experience. I DO know a heckuva lot more than you do, or probably ever will, you provincial little twit.

Wow, I think we all need to go outside take a deep breath of fresh air and be thankful that we are alive to argue about this. Living all the way here in AZ (even on 9/11) I can tell you it pisses me off when I hear nutjobs say 9/11 was a government conspiracy or an inside job, becasue it's these people who demean those brave souls who lost their lives. I feel for all the friends and family of the victims who daily have to remember what was lost. And nothing that anyone says, writes or pontificates should ever diminish what you remember about your friends. I hope this thread can get back on track without further slander to a fine group of members.

I watched the video footage today of how low Air Force one flew and can now totally understand why there was panic. The roar of those engines and seeing a F-16 in "pursuit" would cause any native New Yorker or heck any tourist in New York yesterday give cause for alarm, and I still feel whoever authorized this flyby, should have their head on a stick. (getting off my soapbox now)
