Greetings good people! Need some advise. Uhhh, I used to have a 15inch Bob Carver sub. I have $300 to spend. I am retired and don't have alot to spend. I am considering buying between a Velodyne vx-10 or a Velodyne impact 12 from Audioholics store. Or a Dayton Ht 12 inch sub from parts express. There all under $300 could you please advise. Thank you.

Do the Velodyne then. They are great music subs. Make sure you get a sealed one. They tend to be best for music. Plus your space is small.

Considering the 100v.2's are practically flat to 39hz and have extension to the low 30hz range. Do you really need a sub considering you listen to 80% music and are using them in a small room.

The 100's will already smoke the VX10 in low end performance and should not even be considered. The Impact series subs are not much better as well.

If you really want to add some low end performance look into something from HSU Research or SVS. Something like the VTF-2 from HSU Research would be a good choice. It's more than your 300 budget but worth saving for.

What kind of amp are you using? The Studio 100's dip below 4 ohms and sound really good with a well designed amp capable of dipping below 4 ohms. This really helps with there bass output and control. On paper they look efficient but they really open up with a good amp.
