I'm planning to buy Def Tech SM450 bookshelf speakers and AVR Yamaha RX-V465 for my first HT system. I saw Def Tech Pro Sub 60 open box is below $200. Do you think it's enough for my apartment? I'm using it for 60% music and 40% movies.

If there's someone who has this sub, please give some review here. Or if you have any other suggestion with similar budget (below $300) for a better one, please feel free to give suggestions here.

Can't say without environment dimensions. The Pro Sub 60 is decent for a small listening environment, and it doesn't go that low either. I'd say if you're working with 8ft ceilings, an 8x10 room, it'll sound just ok. Anything larger and you'll seriously be left wanting.

Go up to $400 and DYI.
