ok. i just found the square port. it says 3 x 11.5 should be 46" long. according to winisd, my box is way too big. ???

i'm googling to find out how to convert my box " size to square feet. not much luck.

This is pretty simple math. 1' cubed is 12"x12"x12"=1728" cubed.

Just to pick a number that I saw used in here before of 4' cubed would be 4x1728" cubed = 6,912" cubed. So let's say you start with a base of 20"x20"=400" squared which goes into 6'912" cubed 17.28 times meaning you need a height of 17.28".

The Kappa box has been designed and tested numerous times. I suggest using it. The pieces are already laid out for you.

That is correct for the square port. You would need to convert it to cubic ft since it's a 3 dimensional design. In winISD you just click on the unit area and it does it for you.

Again Chris and Andrew designed the box on our site. They are experts. I would try to stick to that design as much as possible.

yes, you did say to use that box. but i can not. it is just too wide. i have to leave room for a larged screen. that box would negate a larger screen.

3375" cubed divided by 1728 (the number of cubic inches in a cubic foot) gives you the number of cubic feet (1.953).

Note: cubed is sometimes represented by ^3 as in 3375"^3.

Quick question-What if the back of the driver is in fact touching the wrapped insulation will this cause problem with performance.I think mine just touches which would in fact block the hole in the mid q insert any thoughts before I laminate thanks..Sawz.

Cut away enough insulation to leave at least a 1" gap of clearance between the insulation and driver back. The driver has a vent hole on the back that must be allowed to breathe. Do not forget to spray glue a fabric to the insulation to prevent fibers from possible flying around inside and going into the driver vent hole.
