I never take myself that seriously lol. I just thought you were kidding. What wrestler wants to fight a nerd lol?

This Driver is very capable and would be great for a large dedicated theater setup or an IB solution. As would the 21" Maelstrom.

Yeah it sounds good as it is but I have a huge room and it has 2 openings to other rooms as well.

I am running it with an O audio bash with the subsonic filter at 20hz and crossed over at 80hz on the receiver.

The Bash Amp will never give you the best that sub has to offer. It only delivers an honest 380 watts according to Wmax. These subs can handle 1000 watts. Thats about 6db or twice as loud. Before upgrading drivers you definitely should look into a Behringer EP2500.

Though I hadn't realize you had a huge volume to fill. In that case you might look into the Audiopulse or Maelstroms. As Warp said they are great subs.

But you will need a Behringer for each of those subs. If the Kappas don't fit the bill You'll need 500 each for the next step up drivers. Plus the cost of another Ep2500.

I must say that I'm impressed with how hard you are working at this. That kind of dedication will bring you to the desired result.
And don't underestimate what you have. It's easy to forget how good we have it sometimes. By having one of these subs you are already doing very well sonically speaking..

You are def, amp limited at this point, which is the same problem I experienced with the Mal-X's, I kept on clipping that EP2500's or the QSC 2502's, but upon upgrading to the larger amps that have in this case unlimited power, I left those problems behind.

2 good ported subs should be adequate in that space if you don't like ridiculous amounts of bass like I do... I would never suggest you get a 21" driver.... The 18" Mal-X's are a great driver for the money and are extremely linear.

Isiberian is correct here, I would look to upgrade your amp, you can never truly get the amount of excursion out of a driver that needs more power. Get that right and you will see a noticeable change for the better... Then you can build another and you should be good to go...

Honestly though I have played a cd and changed to a different cd that had a louder recording and sometimes I can hear the sub bottom out before I get a chance to turn down the volume... doesn't that mean its getting enough power? The sub is moving a lot with that bash amp.
And if i get an EP2500 it will only be pushing about 1200 watts total to the 2 subs because I can only run them 8 ohms mono correct? 2 ohms would ruin the amp wouldn't it?

No 2 ohms wouldn't ruin an EP2500. And the Kappas are 4 ohm. Bottoming out?

Are you using a high pass filter?

I realize they are 4ohm but if I run 2 of them on one amp won't that make it an 8 ohm load? Can you explain to me how I would get the full 2400 watts out of the Ep2500 with 2 kappa perfects? How would I wire them to get the full use of the amp?

And yes I have them crossed over at 80hz and subsonic filter set at 20hz.

I can hear the sub bottoming out when I have the volume up too high.

Are you using the Kappa 12.1s or VQs? FYI you don't need 20hz for most music.

Those subs are supposed to take 1000 watts. So I'm perplexed. I suggest you PM Wmax for more help. This is an issue beyond my understanding.

I do think you probably have poor placement for it.
