Okay, just for a reminder here is the scale that I employed:

Decent=1 Pt.
Average=2 Pts.
Good=3 Pts.
Very Good=4 Pts.
Awesome=5 Pts.

Now, back to my review:

Mirage Omni S10 10" sub Rating of 4
Very nice tight sound. Good extension, but not overly pronounced. Similar to the Mirage S12, but with less output. Loved it when listening to my music collection. :):)

Outlaw Audio LFM-1Pluses 12" subs Rating of 4++
Very nice articulate sound. Not quite as punchy as the VTF3.3. Not near as much energy down low as the PB12-NSD. At first the bass sounded a bit muffled due to sinking so deeply into my carpet. Bought (2) Grammas and problem solved! The glossy top was also a nice touch even though I NEVER pulled the paper off. :D:D

* Paradigm DSP-3200*(currently own) 12" sub Rating of 4-
Extremely quick and articulate. Good extension to the point it surprises me at times. However, just wished the kick drums were a bit more emphasized with more energy. Extension could be better, but would come at a cost. Nice sub, but have owned better. For the time being, I am happy. :eek::eek:

In closing, I hope this serves as a useful tool to those looking to buy a sub. Of course, these finding are NOTHING more than my opinion and thus very subjective. However, I have tried to be as objective as possible. ;);) Also, please keep in mind that the SVS PB12-NSD has been improved musically since I owned mine. Anyways, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers,

Phil

So out of all these subs, which would you say was your favorite?

The Hsu VTF-3 MK III w/o a doubt. The reason being, it just edges out the LFM-1 PLuses and the PB12-NSD. Given that the PB12-NSD has been improved, it would be a much tougher call now. However, I have NOT heard the new and improved version. It would be hard to go wrong with any of these rated a 4 or higher imho. :):)

What did you think of the Paradigm DSP-3200 vs the SVS PB-10NSD?

I almost was going to get the paradigm but stuck with the SVS. It seemed the paradigm's build quality wasnt on par with there past subwoofer offerings, and there prices have gone higher, making them no longer a good value.

That is a lot of subs. Definitely gives you a unique perspective.

You should have your screen name change from "speakerman" to "subman" :D.

The tonal quality of the PB10-NSD is the BEST I have heard to date. With that being said, the PB10-NSD did NOT sound like a 10" sub. :eek:;):eek: However, the Paradigm DSP-3200 is better musically speaking. That is, just tighter, faster, punchier, and etc. On the other hand, the PB10-NSD is MUCH MUCH better for ht. Better extension and just flat out more energy down low due to a lower port tune. The DSP-3200 does a pretty good job with ht, but no where near as good as the PB10-NSD. I just got a great deal on my DSP-3200. :D:D

No, those honors go to mike c. He owns or has owned more subs than I have. Many of which, are of a higher caliber. Craigsub also has owned a lot of subs. As such, be sure to check out some of their posts. My goal was just to add another perspective to the game. Hope I have succeeded. ;);)

what cossover point where you using?
Usually 80-90 Hz range. For some reason I preferred the 90 Hz most of the time. However, have been known to use the 80 Hz as well. :):)

thx, I have actually started using 100hz (I only have 50, 80, 100, 150 & 200 as options) and I really like it set this way. Might as well use the sub for what it was meant to do!

ever tried using 100hz to see if the kick drum sounds better
Yes I have, but prefer the sound at 80-90 Hz. Besides, I have neighbors to contend with...........LOL!!!!! :p:p I like to keep the bass vert tight and linear. The higher the X-over point the more non-linear it becomes. ;);)
