I can't say what the best sounding is, i tend to notice the "bad" recordings much much more. Like any old Rolling Stones....ugh. The tape hiss is louder than the instruments in some cases.

I've got a FLAC copy of "Open" by Blues Image.

Oh man, Supertramp is great!

"Breakfast in America" was a great album, too! I was very dissapointed when that new rap artist made a cover of it [ the single ]... the original is so much better!

If you're a Supertramp fan; Crime of the Century is a must have. One of the best sounding CDs in my collection.

Along with that I'd add Jon Butcher- Wishes.

Lots more that I just can't think of this early in the morning.

Great recording. Brings back memories from Far East Tour when I was in the Marines. Seen them live. Great show. Sound was awesome, used to wonder if it was "Live or Memorex" the sound was that good.

A friend of mine turned me on to Janis Ian. Not really my type of music.

=> STEVEN WILSON – Insurgentes (the DVD-A disc specially)

I'm anxiously awaiting my CD/DVD-A, arriving any day now.

I have a few of the CDs on your list. Is it me or "You're Gone" from Marillion's Marbles just sounds weird, especially the drums?
King Crimson's Power to Believe is a masterpiece as well as a great sounding album. Some of the 30th anniversary remasters in HDCD sound pretty good too.
Also agree on Dead Can Dance "Into the Labyrinth", sounds very nice.

The latest Rush studio album "Snakes and Arrows" sounds very good

Peter Gabriel's Up is audio nirvana, if I could only get my hands on a SACD copy...
