I am minutes away from pulling the trigger on this--->..http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-Elite-VS...QQcmdZViewItem that Bandphan linked me to (Thanks BP!). My only lingering concern is only getting a 30 day warranty. Anybody have/had issues with this? I am sure that is why it is such a deal, but just a hint of doubt. Thoughts?

Personally, I will never buy anything electronic on eBay again.

Some turned out great, some not so great. Luck of the draw.

Do you feel lucky?:D

In all the equipment I ever bought, only once did the warranty/ guarantee get exercised.

Equipment failures:

1) Ipod G3 failed 4 days outside 90 day warranty
2) IBook HDD failed after 6 years (and 7-10 drops) :)
3) Klipsch Promedia 2.1 failed 2 days after CL purchase
4) Ipod Mini failed as soon as I took it apart
5) Yamaha HTR power board failed, repaired under warranty

Of course, the list of equipment that never failed on me is considerably longer.

Do ya feel lucky today?

Granted, you save money but it's a gamble.

If nothing goes wrong, you win.

If something DOES go wrong, you lose.

A question for those that have had equipment failure (warranty or not) is there a generality as to whether problems are evident quickly, or do they fail due to usage??

Ebay fair trade warranties are available for electronics I suggest you insure any item if you lack the discipline to insure them with your own savings.

Me...? Lack discipline??? Ouch! I have been scrimping and saving to upgrade my next piece. I could have pulled the trigger on many 2-3 hundred dollar units many times. I know that I cannot afford the "next best thing", but would like my money (however slim it may be) to be well and intelligently spent. I usually appreciate the advice I get from more experienced folks here...that is why I ask.
Discipline? Look up Crossfit (my fitness regime) and then talk to me about discipline!
