I am selling this Denon AVR3808CI because I am upgrading to a separates sytem. It comes with a 3 year extended warranty left on it, and I am asking $1100, I have seen this sold for the same price without the warranty, so I am basically just throwing it in. Send me a PM, or it is fast at my personal email at sokrman14@aol.com. I would prefer local pickup in the Omaha area, or require certified check/cashier check

It brand new on Amazon and 2 other authorized sellers through Amazon (Onecall and 6ave) for around $1215. Additionally, if you buy it from Amazon you get a free DVD-2500BTCI blu-ray player (albeit a bit dated), and from any of them you qualify for the free feature package upgrade to get Audyssey DynamicEQ and Dynamic Volume. I would say your price is a bit high for the used piece unfortunately, even with an extended warranty...

I think its pretty fair, save $125, plus ~$125 in a warranty, thats a $250 savings. Its gonna work just as well as one right out of the box, and it has everything but the box. I can see the value because of the BD player they bundle, but the bundle is still $1600.

No, the BD player is free with the purchase of the 3808. So the value from purchasing a new one from Amazon is $1215 for the AVR + $455 for the player + $100 for the Feature Package upgrade to make it comparable to other 2009 models. That is $1770 worth of stuff for $1215. Technically since MSRP of the 3808 is $1699 and thats what it costs most places, it is $2255 worth of stuff. Don't get me wrong, your extended warranty is not worthless, but I think the benefits of the Amazon deal are far superior, and for all new equipment.

I am not trying to ruin your sale, I am just trying to convince you that your price for a used one might be a little high at this time. If yours has the Feature Package upgrade to make it comparable to the **09 models, that makes it a bit better, but still, I would have to encourage someone to go with the Amazon deal instead of yours at that price. Sorry .

I really do understand what you would be saying, but I have tried to add that package to my cart and twice it gave me $1660. I would think that is an amazing deal too at $1200, but it just isnt popping up for me.

It will show up when you click the checkout button. The discount isn't applied until then. Additionally, you have to make sure they are both from Amazon and not a third party seller.

I am kind of jealous of the deal too, I bought my 3808 a couple months ago for $1274 and sure didn't get a free BD player :).

Sorry for dragging this out, as it's in your classified thread - but the discount will show when you go to check out. The cart will say the full price, but the discount will show up upon check out.

However, $1100 for the unit and the warranty is still competitive to someone who doesn't want the blu-ray player or the hassle of trying to sell the player second hand.

EDIT: Strube beat me to it.

I have decided to lower the price to $1050 plus ~40 for shipping. The total price would be about $1100.

In other forums, we call this post dumping. Take it to PMs if you have a problem with his asking price. The 'just warning other members' isn't a good reason, and "just trying to help out the OP" isn't because there's no help by making this public.

Though, in most cases I agree that prices are high, take it to PMs. bottom line is that what is going on here is post dumping.

market drives costs. If you give him a couple weeks, I'm sure he'll come down off the price. ;)
