I need a new sub on a tight WA budget.

Not always. Really depends on the goals. 2 of the same ones will even out better, but some use a speciality ultra-low with a specialty higher sub.
Hey that sounds really cool. Can you recommend some for me?

Well in reality they use multiple subs for the higher lfe. And use only one for the low lfe.

It allows you to use cheaper smaller subs for the 2 to 3 little subs and only have 1 monster for the lfe.

Of course a pair of JL Audio 8w7-3s are small and comparable to many larger subs so if one knows the right drive this approach is unecessary.

But in practice you could pair an Ultra with 2 or 3 PSB-10s and get a similar result. You would want to use the ultra's sub crossover at 50 hz or lower.

This is a commercial solution however a Dayton 12 pair with 2 Dayton 8" might be a nice budget solution for this idea. Even pair of TSCs and a Dayton 12" might do the trick.

This is what results from rhetorical questions and plain Tom foolery.
Forgive me but those suggestions are ... like nothing I have ever heard.
Bottom line is that with $200 you have a hard row to hoe.

Just buy some stocks. They are gonna go up eventually. Then you can sell and get some SVS subs. Or even better give Andrew an offer he can't refuse to build you dual ported APs. :p

Who doesn't mind a little rhetoric and tom foolery. Can I have fries with that?

I have cathedral ceilings in my family room that peak at about 19 feet high. I have a Sony ES-5300. I have Polk Sats all around which I'm eventually going to replace with bookshelf speakers. This room is a dual use room so the wife isnt going to approve of a multiple sub set up. So has any one heard of Acoustic Audio they have a sub called the HD-Sub 10 it says it has a 300 watt rms digital amplifer w/ a 10 inch driver for only $160 and free shipping which is kinda hard to believe.

Why is it hard to believe? What about the one in the classidied section, the acculine? It is a known sub. You spent alot of money on an avr and seemed to have forgot about the most important part, your speakers. Just because the sub says it has a 300w amp doesnt mean anything in releation to performance. With your room size id say your throwing good money after bad with that sub.

I know that speakers are important. If get new book shelf speakers then I have to get a new center at the same time which I cant do just yet. Floor speakers arent really an option due to the waf. So I figured the 1st change would be to switch out the sub 1st. Then eventually I will upgrade the front stage.

That sub wil be a waste of money. Even the A sub will have an issue filling the room, but its much better.
