I was hoping for some clarity... I was in a home automation store and the saleman told me that HDMI is digital video but the audio is analog?!?!

I used to work in audio and keep up with the latest (that was when Dolby Digital was referred to as AC3) but this didn't sound right. Can anyone confirm OR slam this bit of information!?!?

HDMI audio is a digital signal embedded into the digital video signal.

If you can, go back and ask that salesman to clarify his claims as you have heard conflicting information. Maybe he will correct his mistake and learn from it

If such a cable existed, they would want to charge at least $180 for it. That would be one monster of a cable.
