I have to agree, looks good! Hows the Rotel workin out for you, I'm in the market for an amp to drive a pair of paradigm studio 100's. I was really considering either a Rotel or Anthem, based off the knowledge on the forums.

I built the acoustic panels with my neighbor's help. For these, I built a frame with thin pressboard backing to keep it square, filled it with mineral wool insulation from a builder's supply and made a smaller open frame covered in speaker cloth to press fit on the inside edge of the panel opening. Simple, inexpensive and they work great. I may buy some better looking ones to clean up the look a bit.

PSW, the Rotel is working out great for me. Even with the 4 ohm Dynaudio, it does't break a sweat even while playing quite loud. Some times I wish I had gotten the 1095, but based on performance so far, I couldn't justify making that switch now. Especially at half the price. It was an improvement over my Denon 2307's amp section at the volume I listen, but I'm not sure I'd see much difference in sound quality between the 1075 and 1095 even at volume. I think my ears would give up first.:)

Driving the Studio Series would be a piece of cake for the 1075.

Your room looks quite nice, Dave. Cngrtz! Where is that clump of spaghetti wire you were worried about? ;)

Is your floor laminate or hardwood? Either way, that could be presenting some of your sub/bass issues.

I like that room a lot. That's just a really really nice clean setup and I like that you can see your equipment. Mine's hidden behind the doors which kinda blows. I still sometimes kick myself for not getting the Integra....

Dammit! Now I'm sitting here thinking about selling my 94!!!!!!!!

Sweet setup though.

Thanks. The mess is there. It's just all tucked in the back out of sight. You can't really see the tangled mess, but I know it's there.;)

I've spent so much time perfecting my bass response and had it all set up perfectly flat. The current issue is with the sub itself not performing properly. I'll get that fixed up soon and I'll be back in business.

What happened to your other subwoofer? Sell it for booze?

The Hsu is in the bedroom with the Denon 2307, PS3, Archos AV700, Hd sat. box, 40" LCD, the 5 Paradigm Cinemas and a bottle of Emu 999.:D

I'm going to move the Sony S550 into the bedroom and put the Panny BD35 into the living room.

For the record, there are more visible wires in the bedroom than in the living room, but the same issue applies. The house needs some major work before I can get to hiding the wires.

So is the Dynaudio going to be the catalyst for a whole new speaker setup? Come on, you know you want to. Just skip driving the Vette for a few weeks and the gas money alone should pay for it.

Oh no. It's time to consolidate. The next round of layoffs very well might hit me. Since 2001, we've gone from 4,800 employees to 1,400 today and we'll be down to a little over 1,000 by March. I don't even know if my wife will have her job next year. The good news is that we're still working but I'm not looking at spending much on audio gear until I see how this whole meltdown is going to shake out.

The woman's got excellent taste. I'm living proof.:D
That's exactly what I was gonna say.:D

Our systems look like they could be related with the TV/Speaker/Panel configuration. I guess that if I ever get a chance to listen to ERA's or Dynaudio's I will pay rather close attention. I'm surprised that you and the Mrs. have such different tastes. Do your friends and relatives think you're nuts with the sound panels and the SMS-1 type of thing? Everybody I know thinks I'm koo-koo for coacoa puffs over this and did you use 6 or 8 lb/ft^2 mineral wool and how thick and did you leave an air gap in between the insulation and the wall?

Looks nice and thanks for the pic's. :)

Thanks for your kind words (although I hardly deserve them):D

I don't know what grade of mineral wool the panels are. There's no air gap behind them either. They were more of an experiment than anything else. I would like to go with a more professional looking set someday. They do perform their intended function which was to attenuate some of the HF ringing in the room. For that, they work.

I'm not sure what my family thinks but I don't concern myself with that too much. One brother travelled halfway across the country to tell me I'm an a__hole. (Love me as I am). I think I've got my other brother hooked on AV. I've got him into a Pio Elite receiver downstairs and a new LCD upstairs. I'm still working on him to replace his downstairs 480i RPTV and projector with something higher resolution.

Very nice! Clean looking.

Now I have two large open spaces in the rack on each side of the Rotel and I don't know what to put there.:D
A fan for the Rotel on one side, perhaps?

Very nice! I like the layout of the equipment, it kind of highlights it on that rack. Very cool!

I like the turntable as well, I really need to get a cartridge for my sony turntable and dig out some vinyl!

Thanks. If I need a fan anywhere, it would be blowing on the Integra. It's a pretty tight fit, about 1-3/4" between it and the glass shelf. The Rotel stays cool to the touch at all times.

Thanks again, but I'm a little hesitant to say that I don't have a turntable in my system. Maybe you are mistaking the arcing sweep on the faceplate of the Escient for a turntable somehow???

Probably. It does kind of look like a turntable... I think its a reflection or something coming off of it. It looks like there is a matt on the deck and everything.

Yeah, that is what I thought I saw... I could have sworn that it was a turntable... I must subconsciously want people to have them.
