If your a Phillies fan this is a very sad time...

I'm 40 and baseball is my favorite sport. He was with the Phillies since 1971 and I was born in 1969. I grew up Listening to Harry Kalas.

Watching/ listening to a game will never be the same.

I dont think I will ever enjoy a Phillies game the same way again,Thanks for starting a thread S.I just couldn't do it I cried off and on yesterday I just can't believe it I just listened to him the night before L O N G D R I V E I T S O U G H T T A H E R E HOMERUN.....IT SUCKS. R I P Harry the K we will miss you and your voice of the Phils. .

“Kalas, in his 39th season as narrator of all things Phillies, collapsed in the broadcast booth around 12:20 p.m. and died after being rushed to a nearby hospital. He was 73.”


The man died doing what he loved. I grew up just outside of Philly – the games just won’t be the same

It's been very moving to watch and hear all the stories and tributes on TV and radio the last two days.

I don't know the first thing about baseball and never heard of Harry Kalas before but this is still strong, but some people will be even more of a legend after they are gone.

There was a similar story about Roald "Kniksen" Jensen, the best football player ever from this country, who suddenly died in a much too young age. His legend status has only increased since then and people appreciate him and his efforts increasingly more.

Shortly after this a statue was raised outside the football stadium

I am sure Phillies supporters will come with good ideas about how to memorize and honor Harry Kalas.

One thing we can learn from this is to appreciate what we are and what we have NOW

Well the phightins are really showing their toughness,two star players in a horrible slump and the starting pitching almost non-existent but still they manage the best road record in the majors,every time I watch I can faintly hear Harry,but its only in my heart.That darn HK patch they wear gets me every time,Phillies fans know what I mean when I say this,Harry would be having a real blast with Ibanez the guy hits rockets out of the park,I am sure he's enjoying the games from the best seats in the house these days

Go Phillies !
