How would you compare the Jamo 607 and the evo 30's? I know what the Jamo's sound like and am considering these ( evo 30)for a second system....
Hmmmm.....tough one, here. I'll try my best.
The Evo 30 have a sort of .....thicker sound, speaking in terms of timbre. A little warmer compared to the C607. The C607 have a slight touch of warmth.
They are a little polite or should I say.......they have a laid back prensentation. Not a slam-in-your-gut type of speaker. They are similar to the C607 in that way. But I would say the C607 is just a hair more dynamic.
Bass response is very good in both the C607 and Evo 30. Although, I like the C607 a wee-bit better in that.
Both are very musical speakers and they are smooth. Personally, I think the C607 is a wee-bit smoother. Which doesn't mean the Evo 30 isn't smooth, it is. But the Evo 30 has just a slight touch of crispiness to it's sound.
It's so hard to describe the differences. I like the Evo 30 a lot. But when it comes down to it, I already have the Jamo 60 Center Channel and the C603; so that leaves me with a lot more options if I want to do something else with the C607 in the family room. And I wouldn't have to buy any other Center Channel or rears.
Ultimately I have to sell some of my excessive speakers collection. So The Evo 30 go.
And the Jamo's just have the sound I really like. A sound that suits my own personal tastes/preferences, just a little bit more than the Evo 30.
