Eww....that would be like wedding a cheap hooker.....

You may want to consider a Kimber.

Or an H&K....you could get it to match your H/K receiver. :)

Open Rack channel cables behind with wire ties

That post was made after a long day. My mind wasn't exactly awake. I cleaned up every area a lot. Including the wires. Though it's hard to tell in a picture. But I've taped together the speaker wires and power cords.

I realized they were crazy. Still having an open back makes hiding wires difficult. I'm may get a cable run.
Isiberian, I admire people that DIY, I had previously built a Dynaco FM5 tuner and Dynaco power Amp. You get a great feeling of accomplishment and save. I look forward to seeing yor finished speakers.

Congratulations on getting married she sounds like a jewel ;)

Concerning the open rack, if you get some wire ties and channel and hide your cables behind the actual rack you can basically hide the wires very easily so they don't show from the front.

P.S. -My wife is wonderful and great but she also is a collector of all sorts of nick-nacks. I have to really, really straight-up and temprarily move her knick-nacks to take pictures of my system :D

P.S.S- Whoever mentioned Frat house -- wow does that recall old memories. LOL when I was in college I never had any HT ...no time or money

Looks good so far. Can't wait to see it with your new speakers! As far as the open rack goes, you just need to buy more equipment to fill it up, then you can't see the wires! :D

I plan to do some mods to the shelf. I want to add some cable runs to the back of the posts and paint it black. Of course I want to hear the speakers first. I will probably do a Wmax like fortress box for my next speakers or TL design.

You definitely got the HT bug. I'm not sure when you got it but the pics are a fun way of tracking the progression of the ailment and progress it will. The DIY aspect of the disease seems to have taken hold early on. My own leap is going to require a Dayton Woofer Tester 3, some box/crossover software and some books. I get excited about it but the money aspect calms me right the f^%& back down. I guess the main trick to this hobby is to stay in and keep a regular life happening at the same time.

Let me suggest just adding pics as opposed to swapping them out. I know you're a computer whiz and I'm not but I will still say that photo bucket works well according to some serious picture posters.

LOL I have my own web hosting service with plenty of space. No photo bucket required for me. Plus I compress the photos using Irfanview to be like 20k each.

*Serious warning* Oh and it bit me real bad. But the DIY things is all part of someone else's plan. I'm learning woodworking and not just speaker building. I have no idea why I've gotten heavy into this stuff, but I know there's a plan behind it all. **

Back to fun. I spent the last 8 years going through college. And I will spend the next 10 going through seminary. This hobby is a nice break from the rigors of all that. Plus I've learned a ton form guys like Wmax, TLS, MC2(you were my first responder) <-dragged me into AH. I came here for advice on a subwoofer and came aways with a new forum. I had previously trolled a sports forum, but found the topics to be trivial and of no real benefit. I started on Yahoo Answers and became a top contributor. But I found little real discussion. I find a forum to be a place where a newb can get all sorts of new ideas and then deal with them.

Oh and don't let the pic fool you. I'm neither a PC or Bill Gates. though I've been called both. ;-)
