av123 credit - first things first

I appreciate your obvious experience in matters such as are being discussed here; you are not uninitiated. With that it mind, and before I ask about the credit "value" to a prospective Perpetual Tech. customer, may ask one simple question prefaced with an intro' to it?

While I've been strongly considering the value of buying a system (x-static package or x-op) for my HT, I'm getting cold feet with all the comments - such as the "...in the interest of full disclosure..." Seems like every day a new concern pops up with the viability and CS at AV123. Lotsa hurdles to realize the supposed value. So the question: if the product finish is not in stock, will I take the same risk you took, in your opinion? Hope this is not off-topic. Apologies in advance. Just like to know before I jump in with a credit purchase.

I am selling a store credit/gift card and I felt obligated to the prospective buyer to include that cautionary note. It is also there to safe guard myself from buyers who are either naive OR could chose to turn naive/uninformed if and when things were to go south. So they have been warned! :)

Any attempts around quantifying the risks around the purchase you are considering from AV123 would be mere speculation and I humbly request you to excuse me from engaging in that.

But I can share the fact that the credit I was/am holding with them was originally purchased to pay for and upon fulfillment of a pre-order on one of the NEW product that was/is still under development but seems to be going nowhere in terms of it release. It was NOT a mature, released, in-production product such as one that you seem to be interested in.

I suggest that you give them a call to find out more about the availability and delivery about the product(s) you are interested in.

Subsequently, give it some thought, weigh everything and then make your own decision.

Hope this helps. Thanks for your interest. :)

First, How di you end up with so much credit. Can't you just get your money back?

Second, well I am not rich ( LOL got caught in the Obama social economics) and I would be on the look-out for bargains. But 5%, is not worth the risk to me at all inf fact to even start feeling a risk worth cost reduction it would have to be am much higher percent, say 25% ,especially since your are limited to only AV123.

Third, Most Audioholics on this forum are very smart and shrewd and it the appears to be a scent ( or is that sent or is the cent :D ) in the air we are unsure of.

Good Luck,

I believe that store credits/gift cards are generally non-refundable. As I said, the credit was purchased to pay for a pre-order of a new, under development product that never happened (at least until now). Anyone familiar with Av123 product line-up probably knows what I am talking about.

I don’t know where you picked the 5% number. If you read through the thread (which I expect one to), the discount to face value is 10%. Now that may be nothing to some, peanuts to others and even a HUGE discount to yet some others. And yes, someone may even show up with a 25% discount to face value too some day and one can easily chose to wait until then. For others, I have some up for 10% discount.

Exactly the reason why I registered here. I thought could do with some of that and registering here appeared to be an extremely simple process. I felt like a whole new intellectual immediately after the registration. :D

Not everyone has the “same” nose (thankfully!) Imagine every human looking like a wood pecker :D

Humor aside, one ought to give ANY credit/gift card purchase some serious but balanced thought before taking the plunge.

Just wanted to explain the quoted comment from me.

I expect one to go through the thread because, for some reason, I cannot edit the original post. It's very easy for someone to miss the 10% discount, just like Midcow2 did.

Thanks Midcow2. I really wish I didn't have to sell this credit.

Anyway...so can I PM you once in a while in exchange for Rep points? I would love to see a whole lot of green :)
