Which other brands/models of center channel speakers would you indicate to match well with B&W 603-S3 fronts?

Thanks,
Demetrio.

I wouldn't stray from B&W

The cheaper and smaller B&W LCR60S3 mates well with the 603's despite what the B&W literature says.

I tried this set up for a month before I traded up to the 604’s because I wanted more bottom end for stereo listening.

Another option would be a used B&W HTM2 circa 1999, but even used, it still might be more then the aforementioned LCR60.

I know that, but... I'd like to have other options too. :)
You could try a KEF iQ6 or something similar. But I think your best off getting the same LR speaker you have. Not a true center, but the same speaker as your L or R speaker.

Obviously, another 603 would be ideal, but most people don't have the room for a third floor standing speaker to be used in the center's position.

Unless, you have a dedicated theater:rolleyes:...in which case we probably wouldn't be talking about 600 series speakers;)

One could use a bookshelf of similar brand and mount it above the tv.

Also one only needs a PJ or a wall mounted tv to use the same vertical tower.

My living room is far from a dedicated theater and I plan to use 3 matching speakers along the front whenever I have a chance to finish them.

Just because you have a theater room doesn't mean you spend 1000s on speakers. I probably will never spend that much on a speaker. Of course I will only be buying drivers so that makes it easier.

Yes, a bookshelf is defiantly preferable to the standard MTM design of most centers, due to the more linear off axis horizontal dispersion.

I only know common folk in my parts of the world and none of them have PJs, so I consider those that due have PJs to be more dedicated than the average person. Personally I prefer not to crane my neck to look at wall mounted TVs, but if I had a big enough screen I guess, it would be worth it if I could fit another 604 in there.

My secondary system consists of 5 older primus 150s, I do appreciate matching speakers, really!:D

To the OP, sorry about the jack.;)

I picked up mine used on Ebay and am very technically minded so I can maintain it. It cost me around $150 and $200 for a new lamp. That's 1/3rd of what I had planned to spend on a TV. And I have a screen that is much much larger. For me it's a no brainer, but I don't suggest it for the faint of technically hearted. You adjust to the picture if you give yourself time, but you don't want it to high. That's for sure.
