good price for retail. I bought a pair for 220 6 mos old off craigslist and they had the upgradeed interior bracing and insulation. guy lost job had to sell. they sure sounded sweet on his system with both tube and SS amps. I'm still doing placement and have to move some other spkrs out.

Did it really have the upgraded rock wool insulation, or was it just the grey stuff on the walls that comes w/ the speaker?

they were upgraded per the "Wmax" methode from AH. I didn't do it the pre- oonr did and I didn't see inside. he said he used about 400 worth of material to do it, lumber and insul.

Any time his name is mentioned in an upgrade. You got a much improved speaker.

I think Oppo's forthcoming BR player may be the lowest-priced one to play SACD. They've been offering it to beta testers for $500. Wonder if that'll be the price...

The only standalone Blu-Ray players that support SACD are upcoming ones from Oppo and Denon. The non entry-level PS3's also support SACD playback. However, none of Sony's (or Panny or Samsung or LG or Pioneer or Onkyo, etc.) standalone players do.
