IMO, the best sounding speakers my ears have ever heard was the Bose Wave Radio! :p
I have Boston Acoustics speakers, and it's either I think the highs are too SCREECHING high or the bass are too "hard" like Paquiao's punches that recently listening to music raises my pulse rate instead of relaxing me :( Basically I'm looking for warm rich sound with water-like bass like the Bose Wave system that would put me in a heavenly musical experience. Anyone want to suggest similar speakers?? I already have a high-quality receiver, disc player and subwoofer. I want to simulate a sound like the Bose wave emits withOUT having to spend 1,000$$$! the price of the Bose Wave System is way too ridiculous!

I would check Radio Shack for something in the $26 range or go have my hearing checked.

go have my hearing checked<<< that's like you finding a chick walking pass you super-hot and your best buddy tells you "you need to get your eyes checked" How would that make you feel huh?

Well, if the chick was Rosie O'Donnell then, with any luck, he'd stage an intervention for me and forcibly get me on medication.

everything that I post in this forum is serious. Or else I wouldn't even be here if I didn't need any help or suggestions getting the right kind of equipment

i think we are just going to go in circles here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds beauty in the Bose wave system. Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, amazing sound is in the ears of the beholder

Looking for that rich warm sound I got it, go buy the Bose you will then feel rich, place close to open flame or heating vent to be safe, you will get warmth, now the best part turn it on, sound. Rich warm sound.

I can't imagine anyone really liking the sound of a bose wave radio, I think they sound awful, at least for their asking price. However, if I were going to put together a system, I would do my best to make sure it blows anything by bose out of the water. Good luck in your search, it shouldn't be too hard to find a crappy set of speakers with no highs or lows.

Some people actually enjoy eating human fecal matter. I'm not kidding.

Just because you like it doesn't mean that it's not really, really, really awful ;)

I'll actually throw out an idea to help a bit. Since you are complaining about frequencies that are bothering you, and bose is known to emphasize some frequencies and eliminate others I would imagine it's the full range sound that bothers you. Now if you could find out what bose increases and decreases you could get an EQ and basically take out the frequencies. Now That's not doing justice to either the speakers you own or the music itself but it will get you sound close to bose.

Next to doing something like that you're just going to have to go out and listen to speakers until you find something you like.

I have the Bose Wave Radio as a alarm clock I'll sell you.

It's not the CD model.

In all fairness, while some people do like the sound of Bose speakers, the reality remains the same that Bose has pretty much become the laughingstock of the audio industry with speakers which are completely incompetent.

If you don't like the responses I don't blame you, but if you look for information about the actual sound quality of Bose, you will see that this is pretty normal for a company which doesn't give you any real information about what you are buying when you dish out far to much money for their products.

Yet, the bottom line is that the 'rich warm' sound of Bose comes from their lack of actual tweeters and bass... and a very limited mid-range. That is, rich warm, means limited mid-range and little else.

I would likely go with a Home Theater System from Onkyo...

Which really allows for a full setup at a very reasonable price using speakers which are in the same category as Bose speakers.

I would think the mini-systems from Onkyo are going to be of similar quality.

I'll bite :p

If you like the Bose wave radio sound  but do not want to spend the money on it you can try one of their entry level bookshelf speakers such as the Bose 201. I am not sure on the price but I think they are in between $199 - $299 dollars. You can then use the tone controls (bass, treble) on your receiver and try to replicate that of the Bose wave radio sound .
