Hey guys, my next purchase will be a TV. I KNOW 1080P is all the rage, BUT, I am going for a 720/768P. A little cheaper also ! I cant afford 2500.00 plus for a TV. I am not going Blu-Ray just yet ! So... any sugestions on a TV for me.??
I like SONY, JVC, MITSUBISHI, PANASONIC, PIONEER, NO, LG"s, Vizio's,
Ant comments would be great, thanks.

If you are looking to spend less money and get good picture quality, go with a panny plasma. 58" under 2k, base 50" 1k

If you don't have a lot of ambient lighting, I'd go plasma, or just step down to a nicer 40" or 42" unit.

For me - LCD=Samsung.

If you have $2,500 to spend you can buy one of the best 46'' LCDs available.

Samsung LN46A950

Anyone with half a brain would tell you to save $1,000 and get this instead.

Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ800U
(DON'T BUY FROM AMAZON. SEARCH FOR LOWER PRICE)

When I was getting my last TV I ended up going with the 60" Pioneer 6070HD. While not a Kuro, I have yet to see an LCD which has bested it for overall quality.

If the budget doesn't afford the newest backlit LED LCD displays, then I would seriously be looking at plasma unless you have some specfic reason not to.

Agreed.... I have yet to see an LCD that will compete with even a mid level plasma, and these days you would have to work pretty hard to find a crappy plasma... LCD's suffer from motion blur and bad off angle viewing.

It was a huge toss up between the Pioneer Elite 151 and the Panasonic 65" for me.... I can't believe the PQ of this 65". My buddy who has a Pioneer helped me set it up, and he was astounded with what Panasonic has to offer in this gen of 1080p plasmas.

Yeah, no disrespect to Amazon. They are great! My only dispute is that a lot of people have been buying that TV for $700 less from other sellers.
