Advanced Color Calibration for H30 DLP projector

Here is my current issue: I have an Optoma H30 DLP projector with a new bulb.
I decided to replace the bulb rather than buy a new projector as I probably have another year before the price point on a decent 1080p DLP machine is around $1500

I've just calibrated contrast, brightness, color, tint, and sharpness using Avia and DVE DVDs. When I check the color with the color bar patterns; blue and red are dead on. But Green is all over the place.

How do you adjust green? Do I need to get a colorimeter and some software, (I've been looking at Eye One Display 2) or can it be done with the filters that came with DVE? Any feedback you guys can share would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't jack with the green. I think there is something wrong with the filters interaction with the color wheel. Just leave it at 100 IMO. I know what you are talking about i've had the same issue. I think if you even try to adjust it you will not like the results. So keep it at normal.

No need for a fancy toy. Just leave it alone. It has little positive effect on the picture IMO to adjust the green using those filters.

Thanks for the reply

I guess I'm suffering from "upgrade-itis". I can enjoy the next 1000 hours on this bulb then look to upgrade to 1080p. Hopefully the LOTR Extended Editions will be out on Blu-Ray by then.

We can only hope.

I suggest holding out. PJ technology has some space to go IMO.
