The Fate of Plasma TVs Top Installers’ Focus

I've read the new Pannys are going to be really sweet. Also thinner, less energy consumption, 600 hz (as opposed to 480hz of Pio?). One fellow I trust thinks they looked so good at CES, that Pioneer might not be all that missed. (No offense; if I got a flat panel today, it would be a Kuro, outside of the singular exception of something larger than 60").

As long as successful marketing manhandles consumer ignorance, plasma will never hold the lion's share of the market. However, they can still be successful, I'd imagine, perhaps the same way that Bluray might with a small market share.

After all, EVERYONE that does know their displays, or is a professional CI installer, recommends plasma as far as that I have seen.

Pannys new pricing has been leaked already. And with a 54" plasma costing $ 5500 , they are still moving forward with pdp untill neo pdp starts up.

I have pricing for the new panels. Most of them anyway. Pricing appears to be quite good. I would expect street price on the new 720p 42" to START around $779.00-$799.00 or so near the beginning of its model life.

Well I have been reading about the new Pannys, and they look nice, but I decided to jump on picking up one of this years models instead, didn't want to go through all the online speculation.... I was going to buy another Pro model, I have 2 - 720p models already 8uk and 9uk, but decided to go for the consumer model instead. With HDMI finally starting to level out I was holding off on getting a decent preamp, I finally pulled the trigger on a Anthem D2v.....

After going out to the stores and looking at the PZ850 models.... to me they look awesome. I got an offer on a 65" for a really good deal.... I looked at the Kuro's but wanted a larger screen, and I was fairly concerned about the buzzing coming from the Pioneer pro panels (heard it myself).... It came down to a 60" Pioneer 151, or get the extra screen real estate with the more then acceptable PQ of the Panasonic.

Can't wait to get it next week....

Realize they are not the new models but are one heck of a deal. Check out Costco.com they have a special for a 58" and 46" 800U for $2999:)
