Ok guys I am looking for some options as I would like to replace my vanilla speaker cable for my mains only. I want something that looks half way decent for around $50. Is it possible to get something comparable to this for that price?>

I've been dukeing it out with some ninjas around here about monster vs. other cable. I ear tested this Ultralink Professional Grade 14/4 "6N OFHC" cable again today and am stumped whether it or monster z1 is better.

It's 4-conductor for bi-wiring and is about 1/2" diameter in white. They may have other colors. I got it at ascendacoustics.com for $1/foot.

It's actually 5/16" diameter on measuring. The description says it has an optimum capacitance to inductance ratio.

Looking at _this_ link you posted, they do sell connectorized Ultralink that _may_ be a higher grade.

I prefer Ace Hardware's 16 AWG lamp cord for 75 feet or less. Comes in white or brown. I'll pit this cable against any cable you guys have and bet you can't tell the difference.

Then again, it's your money. Buy what makes you happy and impresses your friends.

While I do agree with what you're saying here, I'd like to clarify one point.
I wouldn't assign a wire gauge without first knowing the load, and the distance.

Thanks for the info man. This is purely for aesthetic purposes and nothing more, I am very anal about the appearance of my system and want it as clean looking as possible. The current cable I have is perfect as far as SQ goes. And I want to find a set of stereo cables that looks good for as cheap as possible.

Good point. Wire resistance is the issue.
