Ok great. I am going to the gym, you should be able to set up and give first impressions by the time I get home.
I just got back from class. I really, really, really wanted to skip, but I missed lots of class last week from being sick, and I stayed up all night working on some crappy homework that was due today :D. My girlie had to sign for it but it is here! Woohoo. Thanks for waiting though!

I am not even going to read the manual. That Batpig guy has it all lined out :).

Now I must get off this forum and go play with it!

EDIT: BTW, 6ave.com packages their stuff really well. It was double boxed in packing peanuts and the box for the AVR is flawless! Plus, shipping was free!

I have to run to my parent's house to get my Audyssey tripod. Damn!
What's the rush. Get it hooked up and working first. I waited a month before I ran Audessey on the Integra. ;)

I have OCD, so honestly, I will probably take hours to meticulously set everything up. I even got 2 cable management kits from Monoprice to do that thing, though HDMI makes that a bit easier :D.

I got the tripod and I am currently taking apart my whole system so I can clean the shelf and vacuum under it and the sub.

I am also taking this opportunity to swap my PS-1000 sub to my dad's old PS-1200 because he bought 2 new subs. Weeeeee!

I know they're not identical, but now is a good time to experiment with dual subs for kicks and giggles.

I really should (and really want to), but I don't have a Y-cable and certainly couldn't find one in this small town :(.

EDIT: I could always place them both and order a Y, then connect the second one when I get it :). Good idea!

Now the question is, should I put the bigger sub in the front of the room and leave the smaller one tucked away in the back, or vicey versy? I have the bigger sub tucked in back where I had the last one. When I set up the system I was less knowledgeable about sub placement (actually I still don't know anything, but I know who to ask :)), and my guess is that I could get far superior sound if it were placed elsewhere...

See the little guy crammed behind that second seating row? It never sounded too bad but that is possibly because I didn't know how good it could sound.

Hmmmmmm...

Your Integra didn't even work....
Bah...that was only when trying to bitstream HD formats. Everything else worked fine. I just did the Audessey last week and it was a significant change. It attenuated the highs a great deal. That's good because I felt the sound was too bright in it's base configuration, most likely due to Dynaudio's neutral character.

I think I will take my smaller sub upstairs to that system. That PDR-10 is getting on my nerves because it is weak sauce, and I do listen to quite a bit of music up there. I will try out the dual subs at some point though.

I am putting banana plugs on all of my speaker leads...
