Anyone have opinions on the ASPCA?

Hi, all. I'm thinking of donating some money to the ASPCA. Before I do that, I was wondering if anyone had opinions on that organization.

I'm asking because a few posts and links to articles about PETA opened my eyes to some of what they are doing that goes against my principles. From what I've found so far, the ASPCA seems like a real good organization - but people here might know more.

Thanks!

Thanks, Rick. Looks like they have quite a bit of money already - and a president making over $420k a year.

I think that I'll pass on them for now and put that money towards a local no-kill organization. I was going to donate to both, but I'd rather put more of it local, now that I've seen the numbers.

You could always donate to the "Audioholics Store Shipping Fund". It's to help underprivilaged Canadians buy something from them.

we fostered dogs for the pound in kansas for two years because they had limited space and funds. Otherwise they would have to been uthinized. I would give to my local pound before most of the national charities.

There are a couple organizations that provide living assistance dogs to vets that I have given too however. I'm on my BB otherwise I would post the links.

Oh, boohoo. So you have to pay more for shipping from AH. You have better beer. I say you win.

We do not have better beer at all, and our prices are ridiculous. The cheapest you can get a 24 now in Ontario is $28.60.

I would donate directly to your local animal shelter. I am a huge lover of animals and I know they sure could use the funds. Thanks for donating BTW.

You could also look up local rescue groups and see if you can donate to one of them.

Hey Adam, I also advocate for donating locally. However, not just money, but perhaps with some service. You could, for example, help with cleaning of the cages/shelters. Or perhaps, walk some of the dogs that need some exercise. Putting out that kind of Karma is sure to come back to you in one form or another. I must say, however, that I would not be surprised that you would want to do that as you are one great guy. In fact, one of my favorites if you want to know the truth. ;);) There are several others here I feel the same way about and as such there is no need to get your panties in a wad guys. :D:D Just kidding. No really Adam, volunteering locally can yield great rewards, as well as, allow you to see what really needs to be done. Go for it my friend. I am sure you would do well. :):)

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks, Phil. Very kind of you, and great advice.
I really mean it Adam. I may offer some assistance here locally once the weather warms up. To be honest, I could use the exercise myself. ;);) Who knows, there may be a hottie or two there as well.:eek:

Cheers,

Phil

Is your mind made up to donate to an animal based charity?

Why do you ask, Tommy?

I have nothing against plants and believe that they are extremely important, but I have yet to achieve a personal connection with them.
