Build Quality is great.
--Compared to other brands, I feel this TV is built a lot better and you do end up paying for it.

--Back metal housing, bezel, and over all build, feel and look "well-made." Just handling the panel itself, you can tell you do not have to be overly careful with it and that your money was well spent.

--Even the speaker that sits below the tv(or above) is well built and does not feel/look cheap at all.

Remote/User Interface

--I find the remote to be user-friendly. I like the design and the color. The buttons are somewhat small and they also do not light up, this may be a problem to some. its a "compact" remote, that will fit most hands.

--Navigating through the menus, or making changes/adjustments is very easy.

--I love how you can do a "before and after" when making picture adjustments. Very useful.

Sound
The speaker is clear and works well. It has enough volume to fill up most rooms and does not break up easily. Its not a replacement for a HT setup, but its great for what it is. For all the bass heads, yes it does lack bass.

No Glare?I really thought I would get a lot more glare than I did(thank god)..Basically the sunlight is beaming maybe less than a foot away from where we have the TV, and no reflections at all. I think naturally, in a darker room, any tv will look "better" as oppose to being in a brighter, well lit room.

--Not sure what buzzing people were talking about, but I cant hear any buzzing unless i am directly in back of the set and listening..No noise really, what so ever..tg

Out of the box Viewing..Using D-Nice Burn-in settings; Movie mode

--First impressions...wow....Great level of color, detail and just overall fluid motion. The tv just works, and it works very well.

-I have watched some material using PS3, external HD via USB2.0(all mp4 files), and comcast cable via hdmi...All look amazing, especially planet earth, ultraviolet, 300 and some more stuff..

-Blacks, Whites and overall color is great. I can tell it has a little red push, but I will take care of that after the break-in..

So far im happy with my purchase. Ill post some pics asap, if you guys have any request let me know.

Are you using any of the pure cinema modes at all? I am curious to know if any of them are beneficial at all.

Did you stand mount or wall mount yours? I'd like to hear how the unboxing process went, how the TV was propped up inside it's box and how putting the stand or mount brackets went. I have read that several people recommend not laying the set face down to attach the brackets on... what are your thoughts on this?

Also, how easy/hard is it to attach and detach the speaker?

Last but not least, you don't find your whites to be somewhat gray in color at all? I know you said your whites and blacks are great, I'm just curious as that seems to be a common complaint about the 5020 or 6020.

Thanks.

I checked out some of the cinema modes, Didnt have time to really examine and pay attention to all the little details, But yes they do make somewhat of a difference..

The packaging was great. TV sits, straight up, centered and heavly garded by styrofoam. It consisted of 2 main parts, a bottom piece, which was something like a large tray, that held the TV in place, and the other part slides right over the entire TV and then overlaps the "tray" like piece, where the TV sits.

Very easy to unpack.

I didn't have to lay down the set, but if I did, it would out it on top of my leather sofa, bed, blanket+pillows, etc...anything soft with some cushioning..I mean you have to take logical caution, it is glass..

Attaching the speaker is super easy. The brackets are solid and easy to install. Took about 5min tops..

And honestly No, my whites do not look gray at all. I have my current contrast pretty low too..i think its at 38? in movie mode and they look absolutely fine to me. Polar express and Wall-e had some white scenes that looked amazing. "Glowing" would be a nice way to describe it..

I am going to mount the tv, but again my time is kinda lacking...So for now we have it on a nice table..not too high or low..

btw the tv has built in "handles", its similar to the handles you see on some DJ speakers..makes it super easy to move the set around..

Thanks for answering all my questions, I appreciate that. My set gets delivered tomorrow afternoon so I am getting anxious.

The only problem is that I recently had surgery and can't lift anything over 20 pounds for one month... so given that the tv sits perfectly upright in the box is it safe to say one could just leave it in the bottom part of the box, plug it in and just test that it works while it still sits in the box? I obviously wouldn't watch it or let it run for more than 5 minutes... I just wanted to ensure that it doesn't arrive DOA.

I ask this because if that's not possible I won't be able to test it if it works until my window to return the set is over. So if I get a lemon TV I'm screwed.

So do you think that you could attach the mount brackets while it is sitting upright in the box?

Very Nice!

5020FD very nice! I have a PRO151-FD being delivered Saturday. I think the Pioneer Kuros are the best PQ.

Late,

Well my mom is disabled and she was able to move the set around by pushing/dragging the bottom portion of the box..youll see what i mean..Its not super light, but its easy enough to maneuver on your own..

And yeah you can run the set while the top part of the box is off..Just remember to turn on the main power button, which is located on the same side as the USB port..on the bottom corner..

Unboxing

Solid design through out, everything feels as good as it looks. Biggest flaw is ultra smooth surfaces; hard to keep clean..

Hello ThA, I don't know about the Kuro but the Elite 50 and 60" have slightly different installation procedure (e.g. the 50" came with the stand already in place) so please read the instructions before setting it up.
