For the same price, Marantz. The amp section of the Marantz will easily outcrank the Yamaha and the build quality of the Marantz is better. Plus, I believe the 5003 has Audyssey features.

Just curious, where can you find a SR5003 for the same price as a RX663?

I would pick the Marantz as I've had good experiences with them in the past.

Come on, share where you are getting such a good deal on the Marantz, unless there's only one available. If you can get them for the same price the Marantz is a pretty good selection.

Thanks guys. I was also thinking of the Marantz too.
The thing is that i wanted to exchange my current Yammy for better a AVR, after asking around, one shop offered me the Marantz for €370 and another shop offered the 663 for €350. I thought the Yammy would have been cheeper but when the guy said € 350 I was shocked so I've been thinking to go with the Marantz.

Now as for the place it is average size city called Vaasa, in Finland, a little close to the North Pole.

I will tell the Marantz guy to look forward to a lot of customers :D

I say the Marantz.

I most recently had the Yamaha RX-V3900 and replaced it with a Marantz SR6003. The Yamaha had alot more features, but the Marantz sounded just a bit better ;)

Do you think that the Auto EQs could have been your issue as they should sound the same without eq. Or did you not use that feature?

Atteeeension: Behave yourselves. :D

I think it is pass the temptation. Its time for deliverance from evil.

Like I said ladies its and exchange and the extra to pay is €370. Its a local small shop that I think ships only in Finland.

I have not gone yet for the amp but i will going soon. I'm still going to bargain to see if it goes any lower. That was first price he gave me without bargaining. :D

The price is in exchange for the 461. Oh well, if it seems too good to be true...
I would go for the 5003, no question about it. It seems a better receiver than the 663.

I owned a 663. I bought it because it was "full" featured. But I didn't need all those "features" like xm radio, and blue tooth and a ton of other.....stuff.
And it felt cheap......the volume control was cheezy and just felt like plastic chinese stuff......I never did get the ypao to sound right.............. I took a loss and sold it......
A friend just bought a Marantz mid entry level integrated this Winter. It is hefty and solid. If that is an indicator of what they are making compared to the 663, I would deffo get the marantz.
