For sale is AV123 credit at 5% discount to face value.

I have about $2500 +/- in total. Let me know how much you need.

Looking to sell bigger chunks first before considering 20s and 50s :)

Paypal accepted. Paypal non-credit card payments won't attract any fees. Paypal fees for credit card payment to be borne by buyer.

PM/Email me if you are interested.

CAUTION: You probably know this. But in the interest of full disclosure, I will mention that this is a store credit (which is like a gift card). Hence any and all risks that typically apply with store credit/gift card purchase will apply here. You run the risk of potentially losing and/or locking in for unknown period of time, part or all your money, if the company (AV123 in this case) issuing store credit/gift card goes bankrupt.

Having said that, the only reason I am selling is that holding this credit with Av123 (for more than a year now for some under development speakers) is costing me money (interest on credit cards). I would have been fine with the credit cost if I had the speakers in my house playing music. But it appears that it will be a while before I can get the speakers delivered, hence the credit sale.

I have sold thousands of $$ worth of equipment across various forums (Fredmiranda.com, Audiogon, Emotiva, Audioholics, Audiocircle, etc.) Feel free to check my feedback. I am also on ebay with a longstanding account and 135+ all positive feedback.

My Fredmiranda and Ebay IDs are different but I go by "dgshtav" everywhere else. Feel free to look me up on other forums.

Email references also available on request.

Thanks.

Forgive me for my naivety, but how exactly do you sell/transfer store credit?

The second, more pointed question I have is why wouldn't we just buy something outright from av123 if we wanted something there, rather than buying credit from you to buy something there? Rather, is 5% really worth the risk to anybody? For that matter, it is only actually approximately 2% if one wanted to use paypal, which, IMO, would be the easiest, and safest, way to do such a transaction. I just tried a non-credit card transaction the other day and it still charged me fees. Why doesn't it for you?

Your naivety is forgiven! -:)

How to transfer store credit?
Buyer pays me and I call up AV123 (or email them with buyer on CC, better coz. it's "documented" as well) and they transfer the credit in the buyers name. Been there, done that! And not by just me....but many.

Why wouldn't one buy it directly from Av123?
To the best of my knowledge, they don't sell the credit/gift card at a discount to face value.

Paypal fees:
There are two types of paypal accounts - premier and non-premier. Premier accounts always attract fees, no matter what form of payment it is. Non-premier accounts do not charge any fees, but come with some limitations for certain type of transactions while other types of transactions are not subject to any limits. All the info on types of accounts, fees and account limits is on paypal's website.

Paypal is the easiest, and safest, way to do such a transaction:
Oh no...I can still take the money and run even if you pay by paypal! So be warned! :D
But to those of you willing to lose your money, I have all positive feedback on various forums and ebay with long standing accounts and high $$ equipment. Email based feedback available on request as well.

Is 5% really worth the risk to anybody?
Having addressed the risk part above, I will address the value of 5% here. To rich folks like you..clearly it's not! :p But to some of us...yes it is.

Thanks for your interest.

Hmmm. Fair enough. I think I will take all of this extra money I have piled in a closet that I earned by the highly lucrative business of being a college student and preorder my 5 Rockets for $1699 instead of $1614 and save myself the potential nerve-racking experience of giving it to you, with the poetically stated chance that you will take it and run, though if you take my money, I suppose you should be running - from the high powered lawyers, private detectives, and possibly even hitmen that I can leverage with all of my riches :D. Thanks!

strube: I hope you realize my initial response was on a lighter note (though your initial post could have been through a PM or presented as honest questions rather than coloring me and this transaction, even if not willfully, as a high risk and/or of no value)

I wouldn't want to take money from a student and run, more so when he has contacts with hitmen! :D

Detectives, I am not worried about, they can be bought. But hitmen...based on what I see in films, they may not give their target an opportunity to be bought. :D

Okay...on a serious note...here's the deal...and only for you coz. you are a student.

If you are interested, you can pay by paypal using a credit and I will take up the paypal fees.

And you still get the 5% discount to face value.

And yes, I have impeccable feedback everyhere from everyone who I have dealt with. And I have had higher $$ transactions that the one here. Feel free to look me up by this id on Audiogon, Emotiva, Audiocircle, AV123forum. I am also on fredmiranda.com as "dgsphoto"

Feel free to ask for email references. Ebay ID also available on request. I am 138+ all positive there and long standing for about 5 years.

Deal?

I guess I am at a loss as to why you simply cannot get your money back from AV123 since they didn't ship you your products?

Gene, this was originally a credit purchase (just as one would by a target gift card) from them, which, technically, appears to be non-refundable. They might acommodate, though I seriously doubt it. Also, it would be better if someone could get a discount to the face value rather than asking for a refund with them.

I have been holding this with them for a while for a pre-order that I had put it on one of their under development speakers. But it's been a while and they haven't made enough progress as expected on that product.

Hence the sale.

You might be aware of this, but many people have sold AV123 credit including me. I even have a written confirmation from them that the credit is transferable. It is a very quick and secure process.

Understood and I am not questioning your intent or trustworthiness. However, if I purchased credit from a company in promise they would one day deliver a product, and later realized it would never happen, I'd be demanding my money back. You might want to persue that route in case you can't sell it and don't need anything else from them. Good luck.

No problem Gene.

The credit and pre-order on the speaker were two separate orders.

As for the "realized it would never happen"...at this point, I have no reason to believe it would never happen, but I do have lot of reasons to believe that it's going to take quite a while for them to fulfill my pre-order.

This is a new product that they accepted pre-orders on while the product was in the design phase. It appears that they are having some vendor problems around this product and hence the delay on releasing it.

I also strongly urge everyone not to try and read too much into my "caution" note. It is there because I think I owe that note to the buyer from a full disclosure standpoint on the credit sale so that everyone has the right expectations from the transaction.

Thanks for understanding.

That's only because you are not considering sending him a nickle.;)

dgshtav,

I think you will have trouble doing a deal here because nobody 'knows' you. Sometimes I see deals that I'm interested in but because the seller is unknown to me I want to suggest that they send me the item and if the item is fine, I'll send them the money.

After all, I have done deals here before. I have always been happy with the results and I have an innocent face.:)

Good luck,
Alex

Oh...am open to escrow...but at buyer's cost. :D

Good luck,
I was kinda hoping my "honesty" :D and feedback (am serious there) would help. But looks like what I really need is GOOD LUCK and it appears that I would need tons of it. :)

Thanks for the free bumps everyone. But let's be fair to other sellers here. I mean I have had my fair share of limelight on this post. ;)

(Psst...I do have other FS posts here....free bumps there from the 5th or the 7th to the 1st anyone? :D)

One more thing.

Ebay seems to have sent out 8% coupons to many ebay members

I am willing to post this on Ebay for a sale price equivalent to the full face value (to cover my ebay and paypal costs). Buyer gets the 8% off (capped at $100 per account, but I could set up multiple auctions or we could do a part execution on Ebay and part here)

This might fetch the buyer a greater discount (and possibly a greater sense of security maybe?)

Let me know if anyone wants to take it that way.

Make sure that you have the ebay coupon on your account. It shows up on the My Ebay page and possibly even on the auction page. If it doesn't show up, then you can't get the 8% off.

Thanks again.

Thought I'd chime in here.

To my knowledge, people have often "sold" AV123 credit to other people. AV123 usually helps with the transaction, and both parties can call AV123 to make sure everything is on the up-and-up.

In other words, to my knowledge AV123 sort of acts like the escrow company to facilitate these deals.
