Think about all the audio equipment upgrades you can make with the extra cash.
As a matter of fact I did get some speakers to toy with:

http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52109

Nothing huge but that's about a month's worth of smokes once you add in the shipping. Here's a real world scenario that is huge (to me). With a pack of smokes being $6 and my g/f and I smoking at least 1 pack a day between the two of us that is a monthly total of at least $180.

That $180 will be applied to a low interest loan (3.5%) that I will use to pay off all our credit card debt and some of our car loan. In our case smoke free means debt free ... well ... kind of. :) There is actually a little extra money that I am absolutely not under any circumstances going to blow on audio gear because that would be irresponsible and Oh God please help me be strong during this time of temptation even though I so desperately need a new everything and stuff is so reasonably priced. :D

~ Day 50 ~

I'm only holding out for Jamie and Dave to quit so I can see them suffer right along with me. We could just PM each other about how effed up everything is and how we just wish that stupid people would die horrible deaths.

Whoops, that was for one of the PM's.:D

No wonder only like 4% of the wanna be quitters make it to 6 months. Even if sleep is an ineffective escape I gotta go with it to pass time. Time is suppose to make this easier so ... ;)

Your doing great Alex!

Have you picked up any new "keeping your hands busy activities" (don't go there) to cope?

LOL!:D My hands are not the problem.

I am keenly aware of what drugs do to me and I'm sorely missing nicotine. There really is no help for it. It's just the price that evidently has to be paid.

My lungs feel pretty good and there is chance that I'll get to enjoy good respiratory health for years to come as opposed to the alternatives.

EDIT: Go away! 'Batin'! :D:eek::D

congrats! do you do regular exercises? a jog maybe?

sometimes the feeling that you can actually perform athletics better because you're NOT smoking is a good encouragement for you to continue becoming nicotine free.

Wow Day 50! Very impressive Alex.

It's hard to believe it's be that long already.
I'm sure you've felt every day of it.

I'll leave it up to you, if you'd like to answer this:
What is the toughest part of the day?
Do you notice any patterns to the cravings, or are they getting less intense?

Rick

Good. It'll be like having a roomy in the nut house.

Aggravation is what makes me want nicotine. When I am on nicotine, it's tough to rattle me. Now? Forget about it. Nicotine is so calming. I don't really have cravings per say. It's more like an understanding that my level of aggravation/frustration/anger would melt away like a beautiful cloud nicotine filled smoke.

All people piss me off.;) Some sooner than others. Some more than others.:D

You remember the 'Jumper' in the movie Ghost? His spiel on smoking is kind of what it's like except that with quitting you just don't smoke because you don't want to smoke but the desire is the same. It's like cutting a child off of soft drinks. The child doesn't understand and f^%&ing hates you and everybody else for it.:D[/QUOTE]

I truly enjoy your posts
Thanks. I think I have more fun posting than you do reading though.;)

I woke up after 3 hours sleep thinking about laptops. I'm still in a calm state even after two big cups of coffee but that's probably because Adam and Tomorrow haven't started jerking my chain yet.:)

I found this:
http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/asus-x83vm-x1-core/4505-3121_7-33361040.html?tag=dtBody;[object%20NodeList]

There is 1 store around here that is suppose to have it and it's not orderable. I have a few hours until the store opens. This one might get away too but I will remain in a calm state. Abdominal breathing and Christian teachings ... breathe in ... breathe out ... ;):D

You're just looking for a way to spend all the money you've saved by not smoking.:D

You are 110% right about that. I did it. It's some kind of Outlet Deal where if you do this on line it's $750=tax and if you walk into the store it's $900=tax. I used pzaur's suggestion of the cnet toy to find it and made sure it had a bunch more megapixels and memory than Sony's latest F^%&ing POS that doesn't do the MF'ing thing that you want it to effing do. Now I'll be up 1/2 the night trying to figure this f^%&ing thing out.

It's my first time and I am dumb as a sack of hammers.
Feel free to help.:)

Nice new toy there Alex. You must have been a heavy smoker if you were able to pay for that with your smoke savings already.:p

So what is it you would like to know/learn? Is this your first Vista machine?
