Is one of those the same or equal to the AXIS? I will nab one up if it will work for my second sub.

Here is your baby.... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=293-622 you don't want to mix and match, 2 15" Axis would slaughter.. Like a shotgun to the chest..... :)

Already caught them on Ebay for $100 less..... Makes me wonder if they are clearing stuff out or introducing new product...

At those prices, it would make me think that the 18" LMS's would be just a bit over $1K, If thats the case, I'd be in for a min. of 3.

Warp how are your Maelstroms treating you? Would you do these over your Maelstroms if they had 18's based upon your experience withe the 15" 3K's?

I haven't heard the LMS 18's yet, but if the price was right I would likely upgrade, as they share the same basket mounting layout, so they will drop right into my boxes. A guy will be coming with a LMS and we are going to do just that, swap one out for the GTG

I really like the Mal-X's, but there was a problem with my 3rd driver so I'm waiting on the replacement, came DOA :( and then I'm going to get my hands on another amp to put my TC3000 Ti cone behind my couch for that extra kick in the gut.

Only problem with the 18" LMS's is that they need so much power, its a little rediculous when you look at your wallet. 3 of those would be freakin awesome, but the cost...:eek:

The needed power is a bit ridiculous for the larger LMS woofers. That is why the Maelstrom is so enticing to me (for a theater application). An EP2500 is all that is needed and it is more than enough.

I wouldn't mind playing around with an LMS/Axis for a project though. They seem to be extremely impressive!

Nothing else is the equal of LMS TC Sounds technology to my knowledge. They produce a near perfect flat motor power level through the entire excursion range, which no other driver can do. Normally, a driver's motor power starts to drop off at about 1/2 x-max point where an ever decreasing slope is down at 30%(and linearity is compromised, of course) where x-max is rated according to industry standard, if the manufacturer rated the driver fairly. But it can be worse than this if the manufacturer gives bloated x-max specs. The LMS does not have this ever decreasing motor power change; it remains constant until the very end of x-max where it suddenly starts reducing motor power. But as the previous poster stated; the LMS are extremely power hungry.

+1, I have no qualms of what the LMS offers... its an amazing motor...

Looks like they will be moving into Rohacell® cones in the new LMS's things are shaping up, and they are looking to improve a number of things as well as durability.

It would really be nice if they made them a bit more effeicient to work with a little less then 5KW of power... :D

But then it wouldn't be the best now would it...?

Annunaki, if your room isn't rediculously sized then a Mal-X would make for a good project for ya... I at least have the ability to swap out the drivers for a LMS and just increase power down the line, a big + IMO.

You wouldn't believe what I have to go through to get women back to my cave... Let me just say, there is a club involved and then I stick a bone through their hair so I can drag them back there.... :)
