Advice setting up my new system.

I just got a whole new system and I am looking for advice on setting it up. I pushed my budget as far as I could so this is what I have for now.

Reciever - Pioneer Elite vsx-92txh
Front/Sides/Rear - 6 Definitive Technologies Pro Monitor 1000
Center - Definitive Technologies Mythos 8
Sub - Definitive Technologies Pro Sub 1000

Room is about 15' x 17' with standard height.
Floor is carpeted cement.
2 outside walls are dry wall over cement.
2 inside walls are dry wall.

The some statistics taken from MCACC as well as my room layout can be found on picasaweb(.google.com) at sancmat/HomeTheater# (I have to break this up because my post count is below 5 currently. )



I will post more screen shots of the data the stereo gives when I have them.

My main question is what should I have my speaker size and crossover set at. My speakers rate Large during the MCACC test. The problem is that when they are set to large, sources without a dedicated LFE channel do not send anything to the sub-woofer. Officially the recommended crossover on the speakers 80Hz but the rating on the speakers go much lower then that. Should I set them small or large and should it be 50Hz or 80Hz.

I don't have any other specific questions but any advice would be welcome.

On the crossover question I don't recommend going below 80 for a home theater setup period. I don't care if you have full towers. Subs should provide sub 80hz LFE So definitely cross them at 80. Just because the specs say 50 doesn't mean that it's good to push them that low. Pushing them too low too hard could damage the speaker and that's not fun. At 80hz you will be perfectly fine(fyi don't believe specs.)

For speaker layout i recommend following the Dolby 7.1 which can be found a dolby.com. Though rooms may vary. 7.1 makes up for a lot if you place it right. Room treatments are nice if you have a dedicated theater but in the living area aesethetics are important to the SOs
