The economy hits home....for me

I have had 2 tours cancel in the last 48 hours. The Mgmt said they are only going to tour twice this year because of the bad economy. The other band's Mgmt company is cutting down on their touring schedule as well. It is starting to make me worry as I have never had 2 tours cancel at nearly the same time. I am guessing the entertainment industry is going to be taking a hit this year by the looks of things. I am really sorry you got laid off Midcow2 that truly sucks. I am feeling the economy right now as a bunch of money just got taken out of my pockets. I hope everyone can stay afloat until this recession ends.

Jamie, I am really sorry this is happening to you my friend. It looks like it is affecting us all. Midcow just recently got some bad news as well. My hours have been cut too. Jamie, you don't even want to know what I sold my Pluses for. Lets just say I took a big hit. Things are just tough in every aspect of our daily lives right now. We all are feeling the pinch. However, I will keep both you and Midcow, as well as your families, in my prayers Jamie. Hopefully, something will open up buddy. Keep your head up no matter what.

That blows man. I can't say that I am helping either, because I haven't even looked to see if any of my favorite bands are touring because I don't want to drop the cash to see shows at this time. (If Porcupine Tree comes, I will definitely go see them though )

Jamie, Disturbed is coming here real soon. My nephew wants to go and asked me to come along. I said maybe as I am somewhat of a head banger......LOL!!!! Well, at least I think I still have it........!!!!!! Wished you were touring with them. I would show you some of my "air guitar" skills. No really, I do hope you find some work. Was just trying to make you laugh a little.

I've seen them twice and they definitely put on one hell of a show. The first time I saw them, there was a problem with one of the amps and while they replaced it, Steven played an impromptu acoustic set by himself - that was incredible.

I hope we all stay afloat with you. We won't know how long this will last until the bankers come clean, and I don't think they did today. We won't know the answers to this until the Feds go in and look, and this will take some time. In the meantime the train is leaving the station.

They need to be forced to open their books right now.

Sucks cuz Disturbed was just here with Sevendust and Skindred. I wanted to go so bad, but it's not the wife's kind of music and I couldn't find anyone else to go with me. I didn't want to go by myself. Oh well.

I feel for you & midcow2. I've seen my share of ups and downs but this is the first time I've really been worried since the late 80's. So far I'm doing okay having chosen last year to return to school. I just changed jobs, voluntarily- went back to the company where I worked as a chef to work at a new restaurant they're opening. They're smart cookies and good businessmen but it's still scary; conventional wisdom says this isn't the ideal time to opening a new place.

I'm studying IT at a really good local technical college, and from there I plan to go one to a state school to get my B.S. It's a little spooky taking out a crapload of loans at a time when the job market is swirling around the bowl but my hope is that by the time I graduate things will have rebounded.
